Czapek specifies an automatic SXH6 movement, 12 atm water resistance and a 77-piece edition. Its stated international retail price is CHF 58,000 before taxes.
What makes the R.U.R. different?
A conventional split-seconds chronograph lets the wearer time two events that begin together but finish separately. The R.U.R. brings that mechanism to the front of the watch: the open-worked dial reveals the chronograph architecture rather than hiding it beneath the movement. Czapek describes the SXH6 as an automatic movement with a split-seconds monopusher chronograph module, and identifies its proprietary caliber and module as developed with Chronode in the broader Antarctique Rattrapante material. Czapek’s R.U.R. product sheet is the source for the model-specific specifications.
The chronograph layout is distributed around the open-worked dial. A minute counter sits at 4:30, small seconds at 7:30, the split-seconds pusher at 10:30, and an Rattrapante ON/OFF indicator at 6:00. The dial uses a grey fumé sapphire-glass minute ring, with counters made using PVD evaporation.
How the robot indicator works
The robot head is a functional status display, not just a decorative motif. At 12 o’clock, it shows the chronograph’s state through three colours:

- Yellow: the chronograph is running.
- Red: the chronograph is stopped.
- Blue: the chronograph has been reset.
The R.U.R. name and robot imagery give the exposed mechanism a science-fiction frame. The concept is most persuasive when the colour changes help the wearer read an otherwise complex complication; the robot theme is an additional design choice rather than a substitute for the chronograph’s practical function.
Movement and operation
Czapek lists the automatic SXH6 with a 60-hour power reserve, a 4 Hz frequency (28,800 vibrations per hour), two column wheels and a horizontal clutch. The movement has 49 jewels and 441 components, and uses a variable-inertia balance. The product sheet also specifies a recycled 5N rose-gold rotor.

Its finishing details include shotblasted bridges with hand-polished chamfers, satin-finished chronograph levers, circular satin-finished wheels, and black-polished screws, studs and column wheels. Czapek’s broader Antarctique Rattrapante material describes a tripod bridge as part of the movement architecture; the model-specific product sheet is the reference for the R.U.R.’s exact component count and listed features.
Case, dimensions and water resistance
The stainless-steel case measures 42.5 mm across, 46.6 mm from lug to lug and 15.3 mm high including the glass-box crystal. Czapek gives a separate perceived height of 10.5 mm, measured from bezel to caseback; that figure does not replace the full stated height. The front sapphire crystal has anti-reflective treatment, as does the inner side of the sapphire caseback. A screw-down crown accompanies the listed 12 atm water resistance.

Bracelet and straps
The watch comes on an integrated stainless-steel bracelet with Czapek’s Easy Release system and a micro-adjustment device. The product sheet also lists a complementary rubber strap. An additional calf-leather strap is available on demand; the sheet does not establish that it is included with every purchase.
Edition, price and release
Czapek states that the R.U.R. is limited to 77 pieces and lists an international retail price of CHF 58,000 before taxes. Treat that figure as the stated reference price, not a current dealer quote or resale valuation. INDP Watches reported that the edition became available on September 5, 2025 through authorized Czapek dealers worldwide, the Geneva boutique at 18 rue de la Corraterie and Czapek.com; that release information does not establish present inventory.

Fratello’s launch coverage reported that the caseback on the prototype it observed was marked “1 out of 101.” That is a publication’s observation of a prototype, not evidence that Czapek changed the production quantity: the official product sheet states an edition of 77 pieces.

The R.U.R. is aimed at a buyer drawn to visible mechanical complexity and a distinctive design concept. Its clearest point of difference is the combination of a dial-side split-seconds mechanism and a colour-changing robot indicator. The specifications make the watch’s scale and complication explicit, but they do not establish how it wears, its accuracy in use, or what servicing will cost. At the stated pre-tax price, the appeal rests on the unusual execution and limited production rather than a claim of measurable superiority over other chronographs.
