Farer’s 2025 Moonphase additions share a hand-wound mechanical foundation but take sharply different visual routes: the Stratton pairs naturally veined Eisenkiesel stone with a luminous gold-toned moon, while the Burbidge Eastern Arabic Edition combines an arctic-blue sunburst dial, Eastern Arabic numerals and a baby-pink moon. The Burbidge was announced as a 100-piece limited edition; launch coverage described the Stratton as part of the permanent collection.
Two different takes on Farer’s moonphase
Farer introduced its Moonphase collection in 2023. The Stratton and Burbidge Eastern Arabic joined it in 2025, placing the same general complication and movement in two distinct dial designs, as reported by Monochrome Watches on 30 October 2025.
Stratton: natural stone and a luminous moon
The Stratton’s dial is made from Eisenkiesel, a quartz variety with iron-compound veining. The natural pattern varies from dial to dial, so the stone’s markings are individual rather than a repeated printed design. Farer describes it as a hand-wound moonphase with an Eisenkiesel stone dial and luminous moon.
Burbidge Eastern Arabic: blue, pink and Eastern Arabic numerals
The Burbidge Eastern Arabic Edition takes a more graphic approach, with an arctic-blue sunburst dial, Eastern Arabic numerals and a baby-pink moonphase disc. Its numeral style is the most conspicuous distinction from the Stratton, while the contrasting moon gives the Burbidge a different color accent.

Case size and wrist fit
Both models were reported at 38.5 mm in diameter and 43.8 mm lug-to-lug, giving them the same stated width and end-to-end length. The Stratton is 11.5 mm thick on Farer’s current page; Monochrome gave the Burbidge a 10.5 mm thickness at launch. That one-millimetre difference makes the Burbidge the thinner of the two on the published figures, though the available source specifications do not establish how either case wears on a particular wrist.
For the Stratton, Farer also lists a 41 mm pin-to-pin measurement and 20 mm lug width. Comparable pin-to-pin and lug-width figures were not included in Monochrome’s Burbidge launch specifications. Both were reported with 50 m water resistance; Farer specifies the Stratton at 50 m / 5 ATM.

Which one is the better match?
- Choose the Stratton if the appeal is the naturally varied stone dial, luminous gold-toned moon and a model described at launch as permanent collection.
- Choose the Burbidge Eastern Arabic if the blue sunburst, Eastern Arabic numerals and pink moon are the defining attraction, or if its thinner published case specification matters.
For movement and core dimensions, the announced watches are closely matched. The clearest decision points are therefore their contrasting dial treatments, the Burbidge’s limited 100-piece production, and the dated difference in their launch prices.
