What is the Year of the Horse La Esmeralda?
It is a special edition of the La Esmeralda Tourbillon “A Secret” Eternity Edition, presented as a tribute to the 2026 Year of the Horse. The watch’s defining visual elements are its red enamel dial, three gold bridges, and a pair of engraved gold horses. How the design draws on the La Esmeralda
Red enamel and pink gold
The 43 mm case is reported as 18k pink gold, hand-engraved and finished with red grand feu enamel. It measures 15.1 mm thick. The dial combines sunray and circular guilloché beneath red grand feu enamel, with faceted gold hands and three gold bridges. Engraved gold horses provide the Year of the Horse motif.
The caseback is described as a secret engraved and guilloché cover, with sapphire crystal also specified. The reported water resistance is 30 m. A red alligator-leather strap is paired with an engraved pink-gold folding buckle.

Three bridges and the historical reference
The three-bridge layout recalls Girard-Perregaux’s Esmeralda pocket watch. Monochrome says Constant Girard patented the parallel-bridge architecture in 1884 and describes the current watch as a tribute to the 1889 La Esmeralda. These historical details are attributed here to the publication’s account. The article also places the current release in a collection that has used different case materials and enamel colors since 2021.
Movement and tourbillon specifications
The reported in-house caliber GP09600 is an automatic movement with a white-gold micro-rotor. Monochrome lists 323 components, 31 jewels, dimensions of 32 mm by 7.68 mm, a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, and a minimum power reserve of 50 hours.

Its one-minute tourbillon assembly is reported to contain 78 components and weigh 0.3 g, completing one rotation per minute. A blued-steel hand on the tourbillon indicates the seconds.
