IW504901 is IWC Schaffhausen’s Big Pilot Perpetual Calendar Tourbillon Le Petit Prince. The model pairs the Big Pilot design with a perpetual calendar and a flying minute tourbillon. IWC’s current collection page describes the family as “Big and complicated” and places the tourbillon at 12 o’clock; those are collection-level descriptions, while the specifications below are listed for this reference.
The official Le Petit Prince announcement, dated 22 May 2025, calls it the collection’s first blue ceramic case. The licensee describes a deep blue dial accented with 18-carat 5N gold and a sapphire display back showing a rotor decorated with the Little Prince on his asteroid. These are design details from the announcement, rather than additional technical specifications.

What does the perpetual calendar display?
The calendar shows the date, day, month and leap year, as well as a perpetual moon phase. The tourbillon is a flying minute tourbillon, and IWC lists a hacking mechanism. The calendar and tourbillon make this more than a time-only pilot-style watch: its dial is arranged around several simultaneous indications and a prominent complication at 12 o’clock.
What do the case size and seven-day reserve mean?
The 46.5 mm diameter and 16.1 mm height are substantial dimensions, so the listed measurements are useful to consider when assessing fit; wrist comfort cannot be established from specifications alone. The 10-bar water-resistance rating is also an IWC specification, not a claim about suitability for every water activity.
