IWC introduced the Big Pilot’s Watch Shock Absorber XPL Toto Wolff x Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team on 17 February 2025. Reference IW356201 is limited to 100 pieces, and pairs IWC’s SPRIN-g PROTECT shock-absorption system with a 44 mm Ceratanium case and black-and-PETRONAS-green details. What is the IWC Toto Wolff Big Pilot Shock Absorber XPL?
It is a named limited edition of IWC’s Big Pilot’s Watch Shock Absorber XPL, associated with Toto Wolff and the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team. IWC announced reference IW356201 on 17 February 2025 and stated that production is limited to 100 watches. IWC’s US product page identifies the watch by that reference.
How does SPRIN-g PROTECT work?
The watch’s defining feature is IWC’s SPRIN-g PROTECT system, designed to isolate the movement from shocks. IWC’s product listing says the system protects the movement from acceleration forces in excess of 30,000 g. That figure is the manufacturer’s stated product claim; the official material cited here does not provide an independent test result.
IWC says the shock-absorber spring is made from bulk metallic glass and coated with PETRONAS-green Super-LumiNova. The green spring gives the technical feature a visible connection to the team’s color scheme.

IWC describes Ceratanium as combining titanium’s lightness and robustness with hardness similar to ceramic. The launch announcement also notes that the movement’s plates, bridges and rotor are blackened. Regional product listings do not show every specification in the same way: the height, water-resistance rating and additional strap detail above come from IWC’s European listing, while the 44 mm diameter and US strap description appear on its US page.
What is the US price?
IWC’s US product listing shows US$107,000, VAT excluded. This is a US-market listed price, not a universal price; prices and tax treatment vary by market and can change. IWC’s European listing directs interested customers to contact the company for purchase options. Neither listing establishes live inventory.

Why is Toto Wolff’s name on the edition?
The full model name ties the watch to Toto Wolff and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team. Its black-and-green palette and the PETRONAS-green luminous coating on the shock-absorber spring express that association. IWC’s launch material names Wolff in the edition but does not supply a personal statement from him or establish that he tested this specific watch.
