The Laurent Ferrier Classic Auto Sandstone is a 2024 limited-edition watch that pairs the brand’s rounded Classic/Galet design with the date-equipped automatic movement associated with its Sport Auto. Reference LCF046.AC.B2G1, it was presented as the sixth Serie Atelier model: a polished steel watch with a warm coppery, sandstone-colored dial, small seconds and date.
What is the Laurent Ferrier Classic Auto Sandstone?
Laurent Ferrier presented the Classic Auto Sandstone on 29 August 2024 as Serie Atelier VI, the sixth watch in its limited-edition Serie Atelier line. Monochrome Watches and Hodinkee describe it as a meeting of two design and technical directions: the refined, pebble-shaped Classic/Galet case and dial details, combined with the automatic Swiss-lever movement and date display associated with the Sport Auto. This is a description of the model’s lineage, not a claim that its movement is identical to every Sport Auto calibre.
The reference is LCF046.AC.B2G1. The word “sandstone” refers to the dial’s warm lacquered color, which coverage also describes as coppery, salmon-esque or rose-hued; it is not a stone dial.
Case and dial: Classic lines with a warm-toned face
The polished stainless-steel case measures 40 mm in diameter and 11.94 mm thick. Its rounded, domed profile is paired with a ball-shaped crown, a domed sapphire crystal and a sapphire caseback. The dial combines a vertically satin-brushed center with a circular satin-brushed railway track, slate-grey transfers and a snailed small-seconds register at six.

White-gold Assegai-shaped hands and drop-shaped indices carry the time display. A crosshair detail and the sloped date aperture at three add definition to the dial without changing its restrained overall layout. The display comprises hours, minutes, small seconds and date.
LF270.01 movement and specifications
The watch uses Laurent Ferrier’s automatic LF270.01 calibre. Its architecture includes a 950 platinum micro-rotor and a Swiss lever escapement; Monochrome reports dimensions of 32.50 × 4.85 mm and 139 manual finishing operations. That publication also describes a unidirectional ball bearing as supporting resistance to shock and vibration; this is a reported construction detail, not an independent durability test.

What the 30-metre rating means in practice
The stated 30-metre water resistance is suited to ordinary daily wear, not a reason to treat the Classic Auto Sandstone as a dive or adventure watch. Its elegant case and limited-edition positioning are consistent with a dress-oriented interpretation of the automatic date watch, rather than a tool-watch brief.
Launch edition size and price
Monochrome reported that the Classic Auto Sandstone was limited to 20 numbered pieces and launched at CHF 50,000 excluding taxes. Laurent Ferrier announced availability through its website beginning 29 August 2024. Those are historical launch terms, not confirmation of current stock, a present-day retail price or resale value.

Is the Classic Auto Sandstone still available?
Current availability is not established by the launch coverage. With only 20 numbered pieces announced, a reader should check directly with Laurent Ferrier or an authorized retailer for any remaining allocation, and treat secondary-market listings as separate offers whose condition, provenance and price need individual verification.
The launch strap is dark brown calf leather with Alcantara lining. An alternate strap may be of interest, but confirm the attachment and buckle dimensions with the brand or retailer before ordering; the sizing is not established by the cited launch specifications.
