The Mido Multifort 8 Two Crowns pairs a slim 9.5 mm case with an octagonal bezel and a second crown that turns an internal 60-minute countdown flange. Its two crowns have distinct jobs: the crown at 2 o’clock operates the flange, while the one at 4 o’clock sets the time and date. Mido offers the documented versions with either a rubber strap or a steel bracelet; “integrated-style” describes the watch’s design, not a bracelet fitted to every reference.

What makes the Multifort 8 Two Crowns distinctive?

Mido calls the design concept “TECHNOMETRY,” combining technology and geometry. The octagonal bezel is a focal point, with eight polished facets set against satin-finished surfaces. Inside it, a separate rotating flange provides the watch’s timing function.

Mido says the internal rotating-flange function first appeared in its catalogue with the All Dial Diver in 2002, then in the Multifort Two Crowns in 2013. That is the brand’s account of the feature’s history.

What does the second crown do?

The crown at 2 o’clock turns the internal rotating flange, which is marked for 60 minutes. Mido describes it as a countdown aid inspired by diver watches. The crown at 4 o’clock sets the time and date. This is an internal timing flange, not the external octagonal bezel; Mido’s product description does not characterize it as an elapsed-time count-up scale.

Mido lists the blue reference at 96 g. Its Canadian listing for the black-dial steel-bracelet version, M047.507.11.051.00, gives a weight of 160 g. The difference reflects distinct configurations; the figures are published by Mido, not comparative wear-test results.

Movement and everyday specifications

Mido specifies an automatic Caliber 72 with up to 72 hours of power reserve. The brand also identifies a Nivachron balance spring, describing its titanium-based alloy as reducing magnetic interference and offering robustness against impacts. Those are manufacturer descriptions, not independent performance findings.

For reference M047.507.17.041.00, Mido lists a 316L stainless-steel case, blue dial, date display, Super-LumiNova on the indexes and hands, and a see-through caseback.

Is the Mido Multifort 8 Two Crowns water resistant?

Mido specifies 10 bar water resistance (100 m / 330 ft) for the listed blue rubber-strap reference and notes a screw-down crown. The Canadian steel-bracelet listings also specify the same resistance rating. These are the manufacturer’s specifications; they do not establish that a particular watch has been independently tested to that depth.

Rubber strap or steel bracelet: what differs?

The published versions differ in their supplied strap or bracelet and dial color. The blue rubber-strap model is reference M047.507.17.041.00. The documented Canadian steel-bracelet models are black-dial M047.507.11.051.00 and grey-dial M047.507.11.081.00. Mido’s published case dimensions and water-resistance rating match across these documented versions. The listed weights differ where provided: 96 g for the blue rubber model and 160 g for the black steel-bracelet model.

The slim case and sporty geometry give the watch an integrated-style look, but Mido’s specifications identify a rubber strap on one reference and a steel bracelet on the others; the phrase should not be read as meaning every version has an integrated bracelet. Mido Canada also lists replacement rubber straps in black, orange, white, and blue, each described as 12 mm wide. Width alone does not establish compatibility with every reference, so check with Mido or the seller before ordering a replacement.
