What changed on the Antarctic Diver Green?
The defining change is the sunray green dial. Fratello connects its color to a barrel-cased Antarctic Sea model shown in Nivada Grenchen’s 1971 catalog. That is a design reference, not the date of the Antarctic Diver Green itself. The Green also omits the red crosshairs found on the standard Antarctic Diver, giving the dial a simpler appearance.

Case, bezel and water resistance
The published case dimensions are 38 mm in diameter, 12.9 mm thick and 20 mm between the lugs. Fratello gives the lug-to-lug measurement as 45 mm. The case is 316L stainless steel, topped by a double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.

A black ceramic insert carries a 60-minute scale. Fratello describes the bezel as friction-fit and without click stops, while Monochrome’s first-look coverage calls it unidirectional. Because those descriptions conflict, confirm the operation of the specific watch before relying on a direction or click-stop description. The published water-resistance rating is 20 ATM, or 200 m. That specification is not a blanket guarantee for every diving condition; suitability also depends on the watch’s condition, seals and use. Have the rating and maintenance status checked if you intend to swim or dive with it.
Movement and variants
Both versions use the automatic Soprod P024 movement. Fratello and H°M’S” agree on the caliber and its 38-hour power reserve. Fratello additionally lists 25 jewels, hacking seconds and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. Hacking lets the seconds hand stop when the crown is pulled, which can help with precise time setting.

Fratello reported several strap and bracelet configurations: Tropic-style rubber, leather, racing-style leather, beads-of-rice bracelet and flat-link bracelet. The listed 20 mm lug width is useful when checking replacement options, but confirm the fit and end-link compatibility for the actual configuration.
