What is the RZE Resolute Type A?
It is RZE’s modern interpretation of a Type A pilot-watch dial, applied to the Resolute family. Fratello Watches described the design and specifications in an introduction by Thomas Van Straaten published February 18, 2026. The article reports product details; it does not provide an independent performance test or hands-on assessment.
The Type A layout described in the article uses a black dial with white printing, minute hashes around the perimeter, 11 Arabic hour numerals, and a triangle flanked by two dots at 12 o’clock. Its design intent is quick reading at a glance.
How does Type A differ from Type B?
In the design tradition as explained by Fratello, Type B moves minute hashes and five-minute numerals to an outer sector, while the hours appear more prominently toward the center. The article characterizes Type A as favoring instant legibility and Type B as emphasizing precision. These are explanations of the layouts, not a separate historical analysis. Fratello also notes that RZE had previously offered a modified Type B layout in its Fortitude line.

Dial colors and details
- Carbon Black: black dial with beige lume.
- Polaris White: white dial with black markings.
- Medallion Yellow: yellow dial.
Fratello describes a black perimeter ring on all three versions; it stands out most against the white and yellow dials. The article also notes an applied RZE logo below the 12 o’clock marker and a pale-orange seconds hand on the black and white versions.

Strap and bracelet choices
The reported standard configuration uses a 20 mm black or green TecTuff strap, a titanium buckle, and a bayonet-operated quick-release spring bar. The alternative is a five-row titanium HexLink bracelet with a QuikCliq clasp.
