The URWERK UR-100V LightSpeed Ceramic turns two ideas into one mechanical display: wandering satellite hours and the time sunlight takes to reach the solar system’s eight planets. Its white composite case houses the self-winding UR 12.02 calibre, while the astronomy indication represents light-travel times rather than measuring them scientifically.
How the UR-100V LightSpeed display works
The time display unfolds in sequence. A satellite hour marker travels across the minutes track, indicating the time as it passes. After its timekeeping passage, the display presents the time associated with a sunbeam reaching each of the eight planets. The arrangement translates astronomical distances into a mechanical wristwatch indication; it is a representation, not a scientific instrument for measuring light travel.
URWERK describes the concept as “a mechanical translation of astronomy that is readable on the wrist.”
Movement and timekeeping
The watch uses URWERK’s self-winding UR 12.02 calibre, governed by a Windfänger airscrew. The manufacturer specifies 40 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), and a 48-hour power reserve.

White ceramic-composite case
The case is made from white ceramic developed for URWERK, with silver fibreglass fabric and carbon inserts. Inside is a titanium inner case; the caseback is Grade 5 titanium, sand-blasted and shot-blasted, with DLC treatment.
URWERK lists the dimensions as 43 mm wide, 51.73 mm long, and 14.55 mm thick. The watch has a sapphire crystal, a screw-down crown, and a pressure-test rating of 5 ATM (50 m).

Straps, edition and launch price
The watch is supplied with two textured rubber bands, one black and one white, fitted with a deployant buckle. URWERK describes the model as a limited edition, but its technical sheet does not state how many examples will be made.
The official launch sheet lists a price of CHF 67,000 excluding tax. That is the published launch price, not confirmation of a current offer or local retail price.
