IWC’s current Aquatimer Automatic collection includes 42 mm watches in black- and blue-dial rubber-strap configurations, plus a black-dial stainless-steel-bracelet version. The references listed by IWC use caliber 32111, with a stated 120-hour power reserve. IWC’s official material surfaced here does not confirm a discontinuation, successor, or future strategy, so the line’s direction remains unknown.
Which Aquatimer Automatic models does IWC currently list?
IWC’s collection page presents the Aquatimer Automatic as a 42 mm family with a quick-change strap or bracelet system. The collection pairs an external control bezel with an internal dive-time bezel. IWC describes the watch as combining a robust diver’s-watch construction with styling for daily wear; that is the brand’s positioning, not independent performance testing.
| Reference | Dial and attachment | Listed specifications | Regional price shown |

| IW328801 | Blue dial, blue rubber strap | 42 mm case; caliber 32111; 30 bar water resistance; 22 mm strap width; 120-hour power reserve | Not stated in the surfaced reference information |

These prices come from different regional pages and configurations; they are not a like-for-like comparison or evidence of a bracelet premium. Prices, taxes, availability, and displayed regional data can change, so check the relevant IWC market page before buying. IWC’s current collection overview is at IWC’s Aquatimer Automatic collection page.
How does the SafeDive bezel work?
IWC describes a system in which the external bezel operates the internal dive-time bezel. According to IWC’s Japanese collection page, SafeDive allows rotation only counterclockwise, intended to prevent accidental extension of the dive time. This explains the mechanism as IWC presents it; listed specifications alone do not establish superior dive performance or replace appropriate dive planning and equipment.
#1 Best Overall
- Stainless Steel case with Black Resin Band
- Black Dial with date window at 3 O'clock
- Luminous markers and hour hands; sweep second hand
- Anti-reverse bezel
- Water-resistant to 200 M (660 feet)
The collection page also describes a quick-change system for straps and bracelets. Buyers can choose the rubber-strap or bracelet configuration, but should verify compatibility for any replacement: a nominal 22 mm width does not by itself establish that a generic strap fits IWC’s attachment system.
What changed between current and earlier references?
IWC’s past-collection page for IW329001 lists a 42 mm stainless-steel case, black quick-change rubber strap, caliber 30120, and 42-hour power reserve. The current IW328802 page lists caliber 32111 and a 120-hour reserve. This is a comparison of the specifications IWC lists for these two references, not a complete chronology of the Aquatimer line or a claim about real-world accuracy.

The catalog edition date is not established here, so these details are historical catalog evidence rather than a dated account of when those models were introduced.
The past-collection entry for IW329001 is available at IWC’s IW329001 page. It documents an earlier reference; its presence in past collections does not by itself show that IWC plans to discontinue the current models.

Is the IWC Aquatimer Automatic being discontinued?
No discontinuation or successor is confirmed by the official IWC collection, product, and past-collection material cited here. Those pages establish current listings and an earlier reference, but they do not announce a future release, a line closure, or a strategy. That leaves the future unresolved; the absence of an announcement in these pages is not proof that no announcement exists elsewhere.
For buyers, the practical distinction is between what IWC lists now and what remains unknown: the current collection page presents 42 mm references, while the surfaced official information does not provide a date or commitment for their continuation. A listing in past collections should be read as reference-specific history, not a forecast about the line.
