The exact reference is IW378008. IWC lists it with a stainless-steel case, olive-green dial, and olive-green rubber strap, alongside a five-link stainless-steel bracelet. The reference identifies the 43 mm version; it is distinct from IWC’s earlier 41 mm Pilot’s Watch Chronograph references.

Case, dial and functions
The case measures 43 mm across and 14.8 mm high, with water resistance rated to 10 bar. Its crown screws down. IWC specifies a convex sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides and says the crystal is secured against displacement if air pressure drops. A synthetic sapphire crystal forms the case back, revealing the movement.

How it fits IWC’s Pilot’s Watch Chronograph line
The 43 mm IW378008 follows IWC’s earlier 41 mm Pilot’s Watch Chronograph introduction, but the references should not be conflated. In an April 7, 2021 press release, IWC introduced green-dial reference IW388103 and steel-bracelet reference IW388104. That release described the calibre 69385, EasX-CHANGE system, 10-bar water resistance and 46-hour reserve in the 41 mm models.
At the time, IWC CEO Christoph Grainger-Herr said: “Building on the success of our Spitfire chronographs from 2019, we are now introducing the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 into our classic collection. Thanks to the quick-change system and a choice of straps, the chronographs can be adapted swiftly to different surroundings. Combined with the now 10 bar water-resistant case, this versatility makes them perfect companions for adventures in the air, on the ground or by the water. To underline our ongoing commitment to innovation and technical excellence, we also fitted the new model with our in-house 69385 calibre chronograph movement, which is visible through a sapphire glass back,” The quote concerns the 2021 41 mm launch, not the IW378008 announcement.
