What is the Master Control Calendar Q4148450?
Q4148450 is the 2025 limited-edition version of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Master Control Calendar. Its steel case measures 40 mm across and 10.95 mm thick; the manufacturer lists 5 bar water resistance, a 20 mm lug width and a black calf-leather strap. Jaeger-LeCoultre says the edition is limited to 500 pieces. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results. Jaeger-LeCoultre’s 2025 announcement and the regional Q4148450 product page provide the published details.
How the calendar and jumping date work
The watch displays the day and month in apertures at the top of the dial. A central hand points to the date around the dial’s perimeter, while the moon phase appears in the small-seconds subdial. Jaeger-LeCoultre calls this arrangement a complete calendar, or triple calendar, and describes its display as showing the day, date, month and moon phase.
What does the jumping date do?
At mid-month, the date hand jumps from the 15th to the 16th rather than crossing the lower part of the dial. Jaeger-LeCoultre says this keeps the moon-phase indication unobstructed. It is a display-layout solution, not an indication that the watch is a perpetual calendar: the cited specifications do not describe automatic adjustment for unequal month lengths.

Calibre 866 and specifications
Calibre 866 is an automatic movement with a stated 70-hour power reserve and a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour). The Q4148450 specifications list day, date, month, seconds and moon phase among its functions. These figures and functions are published by Jaeger-LeCoultre; no independent accuracy or performance testing is established by the cited material.

What gives the grey dial its restrained look?
Jaeger-LeCoultre describes the dial as two-toned grey with a grained finish, a contemporary interpretation of mid-century sector dials. The day and month windows, peripheral date track and moon-phase subdial divide the information across distinct areas. The brand also identifies red accents on the date indications and hand, and the New Zealand product page mentions luminous details. Those are the manufacturer’s descriptions; actual legibility in varied lighting has not been independently assessed here.
How Q4148450 differs from the silver-dial Q4148421
The Q4148421 is another 40 mm steel Master Control Calendar, but its US product page describes a silver-grey sunray-brushed dial rather than Q4148450’s two-tone grained grey dial. The pages list the same Calibre 866, 70-hour power reserve, 10.95 mm thickness and 5 bar water resistance. The Q4148450 is explicitly presented as a 500-piece limited edition; the cited Q4148421 page does not state a comparable edition limit.

Jaeger-LeCoultre says the Master Control collection launched in 1992 and takes inspiration from classic 1950s round-watch designs. The brand also says it developed triple-calendar moon-phase movements in the 1940s and brought the complication back to the Master Control collection in 2020. These are the manufacturer’s historical accounts. Jaeger-LeCoultre says “1000 Hours Control” testing inspired the collection name, describing testing of the cased watch through assembly; that is the brand’s account of its own testing program.
