Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Date in Green: Q906863J vs. the 2026 New Model

Jaeger-LeCoultre’s green Polaris Date is Q906863J, a 42 mm model distinct from the blue 40 mm Q9128981 announced in June 2026. Here are the published specifications and what they do—and do not—establish.

The green Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Date is reference Q906863J, a 42 mm steel watch. It is not the 2026 new Polaris Date announced by Jaeger-LeCoultre: that watch is reference Q9128981, with a blue dial and a 40 mm case. The distinction matters if you are searching for the new release or comparing its dimensions with the green model.

No independent hands-on inspection is established here, so this guide separates Jaeger-LeCoultre’s specifications and descriptions from observations that would require wearing the watch. The published specifications give a useful basis for comparing the two references, but not for judging wrist comfort or real-world legibility.

Which green Polaris Date is this?

Jaeger-LeCoultre’s U.S. product page identifies the green-dial Polaris Date as Q906863J. It has a 42 mm stainless-steel case and a green dial. The manufacturer’s editorial describes the dial as hand-lacquered with a double gradient from light olive to verdant rainforest, alongside sunburst, grained and opaline surface finishes. Those are the Maison’s descriptions, not independent assessments of the dial’s appearance or legibility. Jaeger-LeCoultre’s green Polaris Date product page and its editorial page provide the model details.

The “new” Polaris Date announced by Jaeger-LeCoultre on June 22, 2026, is a different reference: Q9128981. It has a 40 mm steel case and a dark-blue gradient lacquer dial. The official announcement does not identify it as a green-dial watch. The June 22, 2026 announcement gives its specifications.

How the green watch compares with the 2026 release

Specification Green Q906863J 2026 blue Q9128981
Case Stainless steel, 42 mm diameter, 13.92 mm thick (Jaeger-LeCoultre U.S. product page) Steel, 40 mm diameter, 12.9 mm thick (Jaeger-LeCoultre, June 22, 2026 release)
Dial Green; sunburst, grained and opaline finishes listed by Jaeger-LeCoultre Dark-blue gradient lacquer (Jaeger-LeCoultre, June 22, 2026 release)
Strap Green rubber with quick-release system (Jaeger-LeCoultre U.S. product page) Blue canvas with double-folding buckle (Jaeger-LeCoultre, June 22, 2026 release)
Movement and reserve Automatic Calibre 899; 70-hour power reserve (Jaeger-LeCoultre U.S. product page) Automatic Calibre 899; 70-hour power reserve (Jaeger-LeCoultre, June 22, 2026 release)
Water resistance 20 bar (Jaeger-LeCoultre U.S. product page) 20 bar (Jaeger-LeCoultre, June 22, 2026 release)

The measurements and features in the table are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent test results. The blue release’s smaller diameter and thinner published case are concrete differences; they do not establish how either reference will fit a particular wrist. Jaeger-LeCoultre says the 40 mm dimensions are intended to enhance wearability, but that is the manufacturer’s stated aim rather than a result of comparative wrist testing.

What the green Q906863J offers

Dial and display

The green model’s product page lists a date display and rotating rehaut, the inner rotating bezel function. Jaeger-LeCoultre describes the dial as hand-lacquered with a double gradient and multiple surface finishes. Without an independent inspection, claims about how clearly the hands and indications read in different light cannot be confirmed.

Movement and water resistance

The green Q906863J is specified with an automatic Calibre 899, a 70-hour power reserve and 20-bar water resistance. These are the manufacturer’s published figures; no independent accuracy, reserve or water-resistance testing is established here.

Strap and fit details

Jaeger-LeCoultre lists a green rubber strap with a quick-release system and a 21 mm lug width for Q906863J. The quick-release feature describes the supplied strap’s attachment system; it does not establish that any 21 mm strap will fit or that straps are interchangeable across Polaris references. Confirm compatibility for the specific strap and watch before buying.

What “hands-on” can—and cannot—mean here

A product page can establish listed dimensions, materials and functions, but it cannot show how the 42 mm case wears on a particular wrist, how the green dial shifts under changing light, or whether the rotating inner bezel is easy to operate in use. No personal handling or independent measurements are established for this article, so those points should not be mistaken for firsthand findings.

Jaeger-LeCoultre says the Polaris name was revived in 2018 and traces the Memovox Polaris to 1968. That is the Maison’s account of its collection history, rather than an independently assessed history of the line.

What to verify before buying

  • Check the reference: Q906863J is the green 42 mm model; Q9128981 is the blue 40 mm release announced on June 22, 2026.
  • Confirm the price and availability with Jaeger-LeCoultre or a regional boutique. Current regional pricing, inventory and production status are not established here.
  • If considering another strap, verify its compatibility with Q906863J rather than relying on the 21 mm lug width alone.
  • Try the green model on in person if case presence, strap feel or dial legibility in varied lighting will determine your decision.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
