The 2025 Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Calendar Q4148450 gives the complete-calendar moon-phase watch a more graphic look with a grained, two-tone gray sector dial. The stainless-steel limited edition keeps the familiar day, month, date and moon-phase indications, while a date hand that jumps between the 15th and 16th avoids crossing the moon-phase display.
What is new about the Master Control Calendar Q4148450?
The headline change is the dial. Jaeger-LeCoultre divides its gray surface into lighter and darker sectors and adds a grained finish that changes how the dial catches and reflects light. The brand describes the design as a contemporary homage to mid-20th-century sector dials.
The layout remains that of a complete calendar, also called a triple calendar: day, date and month appear alongside a moon phase. Day and month apertures sit in the upper half, while the moon phase is integrated into the small-seconds subdial below. A date scale runs around the dial’s perimeter, with a hand indicating the date. Red accents highlight parts of the date track and date hand.
Elongated applied triangular indexes, Arabic numerals at 12, 3 and 9, and faceted Dauphine hands preserve the collection’s formal watch vocabulary. The tonal sectors and red details give the familiar arrangement a more graphic, sporty character without changing its core complication.

How does the date hand avoid the moon phase?
On most days, the date hand points to a mark on the peripheral date scale. Once a month, it makes a rapid jump across the 90-degree span between the 15th and 16th, rather than sweeping across the moon-phase display. It is a practical detail: the calendar remains legible through the date change without the hand obscuring the lower subdial.

How it fits into the Master Control calendar lineage
Jaeger-LeCoultre says it developed triple-calendar moon-phase movements in the 1940s. The Master Control collection arrived in 1992, named for the manufacture’s “1000 Hours Control” certification. The brand introduced a new version of the complication in 2020 as part of the relaunched collection.
Q4148450 is a particular 2025 stainless-steel limited edition, not a generic description of every Master Control Calendar. Jaeger-LeCoultre’s later collection material also describes a blue-dial interpretation; that should not be confused with this gray, 500-piece reference.

The Q4148450’s appeal is the combination of a traditional complete calendar and moon phase with a distinctive, textured dial. Its 40 mm steel case, 70-hour reserve and monthly date-hand jump are concrete points to assess alongside the visual design. The 500-piece limit establishes the edition size; it does not by itself establish comparative rarity or superiority over other watches.

For a meaningful comparison with another complete-calendar moon-phase watch, consider case dimensions and material, dial legibility, movement and reserve, date-hand path, water resistance, strap and clasp, edition size, and price. The published launch information does not identify a direct competitor, so the choice depends on those specifications and personal preference rather than an unsupported ranking.
