Phillips’ New York Watch Auction: XIV, held June 13–14, 2026, brought in $75,807,200, with all 158 lots sold, according to the auction house. Its headline results included $13,922,000 for an F.P. Journe Chronomètre à Résonance “Souscription, No. 007” and $1,841,500 for Kari Voutilainen’s Masterpiece Chronograph II “Number 1 of 10.” The sale was held in summer, not fall: Phillips’ official dates place it in June.
Which Phillips New York auction was it?
The results belong to The New York Watch Auction: XIV, held June 13–14, 2026, at Phillips’ 432 Park Avenue location. The public exhibition ran June 10–12, according to the auction house’s sale preview.
The “Fall Watch Auction” wording in the supplied headline does not match those dates. Phillips separately lists The New York Watch Auction: XIII on December 6, 2025; it is a different event, not another name for the June 2026 sale.
How did the auction perform?
Phillips reported a total of $75,807,200 for Auction XIV, with 158 of 158 lots sold—100% sell-through by both lot count and value. The house also reported that 16 watches sold for more than $1 million. These are Phillips’ figures for this auction, not measures of the wider watch market.

Phillips said bidders from a third of the world’s countries competed for lots. Deputy Chairman and Head of Watches, Americas Paul Boutros and Head of Sale and Senior International Specialist Isabella Proia described the results as “a watershed moment for the watch market.” That is the auction house’s characterization of its own sale.

All results and estimates above are as reported by Phillips in its June 14, 2026 results release. The release calls the Voutilainen result a brand record; the claim is attributed to Phillips rather than independently verified here.

Why the F.P. Journe Résonance drew attention
Phillips identified the Résonance “Souscription, No. 007” as the lead lot. The firm said the example was fresh to market and appearing publicly for the first time. It described the watch as one of 20 Souscription pieces made for founding clients, and as one of two known examples with a platinum and pink-gold case and pink-gold dial. Those rarity and appearance details are Phillips’ descriptions.
The model’s technical premise is resonance: Phillips says the Résonance, introduced in 2000, uses two escapements operating in natural resonance to enhance chronometry. Its $13.922 million result made it the auction’s defining sale by price, while its configuration and first-public-appearance context gave Phillips specific reasons to emphasize this example.

What made the Voutilainen result notable?
The $1,841,500 result was for the Masterpiece Chronograph II “Number 1 of 10,” circa 2012—not for a different Voutilainen model. Phillips said it was the first example in the ten-watch series and linked its rarity and significance to the brand-record result. The price was more than seven times the top of its $240,000 estimate, based on the figures Phillips published.
Care is needed when comparing it with other Voutilainen auction results. Phillips’ separate December 2025 Auction XIII page lists an Observatoire at $533,400; that is a different watch and a different sale, so it should not be conflated with the Masterpiece Chronograph II result.
