What is La Barrichello?
Artisans de Genève describes Barrichello’s brief as opening up the movement without sacrificing dial legibility. Its account of the project places the collaboration in 2019 and says the watch’s colors reflect his personality and motorsport background. Barrichello’s testimonial on the maker’s site captures the personal nature of the commission: “I have always had a thing for the Daytona®, and I wanted to make it my own way.”
The base watch is identified in contemporary coverage as the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona reference 116520. Artisans de Genève is an independent customization workshop; the available accounts describe its work on a Rolex watch, not an official Rolex collaboration. Fratello Watches’ 2019 report identifies the base reference.
What did Artisans de Genève change?
Fratello’s published specifications describe a 40 mm steel case around a skeletonized Rolex calibre 4130. The changes emphasize visibility and contrast: the movement is opened up, the case back is transparent sapphire, and the bezel is ceramic. The rotor is reported as 21-carat gold.

These are specifications reported by Fratello Watches in 2019, not results of independent inspection or water-resistance testing of an example. The project description does not quantify how much of the movement was skeletonized.
Who made the strap?
Rubber B says it developed a bespoke black-and-red strap for La Barrichello. That establishes a project-specific strap, but not that the same design is currently sold as a standard product or that a strap in the current catalog will fit a particular watch. Can you still buy La Barrichello?
The available sources do not establish that an example is currently for sale, nor do they give an exact production quantity. Motorsport.com described the launch as a personalization with “limited capacity,” which does not by itself establish a numbered limited edition or a total number made. Anyone considering a listing should verify the specific watch’s provenance and condition with the seller; the sources cited here do not establish current market availability.
