The Longines Master Collection Annual Calendar offers a useful middle ground between a simple date watch and a more demanding perpetual calendar: it distinguishes 30-day from 31-day months, but needs a manual correction when February ends. In WatchTime India’s June 2022 extended test, the watch gained about one minute over two months on the wrist, and the reviewer praised its daylight legibility and cuff-friendly comfort while noting scratches and the lack of lume. Current availability, price and exact Annual Calendar reference specifications are not confirmed by the manufacturer sources cited here, so treat the review as evidence about that tested example—not proof of today’s catalog or every version.
What the annual calendar does—and what it does not
An annual calendar tracks the different lengths of 30-day and 31-day months. It can therefore advance correctly through those months without the wearer correcting the date each time. February is the exception: the mechanism does not account for February’s shorter length, whether it has 28 or 29 days, so the calendar needs correction at the transition to March.

In WatchTime India’s extended test, the reviewer described advancing the date manually at that point, with the month indication moving on as the date was corrected. The article also discusses setting the month independently when resetting the watch after it has been left unworn. Because setting procedures can vary by reference and calibre, use the instructions for the exact watch rather than relying on a general description; Longines offers a manual search by watch name, reference or calibre at Longines’ care-instructions page.
What WatchTime India observed in its test
Calendar behavior and timekeeping
Martina Richter’s WatchTime India review, published June 6, 2022, describes testing over several months. During the observed transition from April to May, the calendar changed around midnight and the month display advanced with the date. The reviewer reported that the tested watch gained about one minute over two months on the wrist—approximately 1.2 seconds per day. That is a result from one review sample, not a Longines accuracy specification or a prediction for every example. Read the WatchTime India review.

Dial and wearing impressions
The review’s blue sunray dial, polished hands and applied indices were described as a more contemporary look than versions with barleycorn dials and Roman or Arabic numerals. The reviewer found the hands and markers legible in different daylight conditions, but noted that the watch has no luminous material. The watch was also described as comfortable and elegant, with a profile that fit beneath a shirt cuff.
Case and bracelet wear
After four months, the reviewer reported scratches on the case and bracelet. The article also describes screwed bracelet-end attachments used for sizing and a double-folding clasp. These are observations about the tested watch and its configuration, not guarantees about every reference or an independent durability assessment. If you are considering a bracelet version, inspect the particular watch and ask how links are removed or adjusted before purchase.

Is it the right calendar watch for you?
The Annual Calendar makes sense if you want a mechanical calendar that needs less frequent correction than a basic date display, and you are comfortable making a correction after February. It is not a set-and-forget calendar for the whole year, and the 2022 test does not establish the accuracy you should expect from another individual watch.
- Consider it if: you value the annual-calendar function, prefer a formal-to-smart-casual design, and can live without luminous markers.
- Look elsewhere if: night-time legibility is essential, you want a calendar that accounts for February without an annual correction, or visible wear on polished surfaces would bother you.
- When comparing alternatives: check the exact reference’s case size and fit, dial legibility, bracelet or strap configuration and adjustment, stated water resistance, calendar-setting method, and current local price. Keep an observed test result separate from the maker’s specifications.

Swatch Group announced a redesigned Master Collection in August 2026, describing new three-hand models, moonphase chronographs and a monopusher chronograph. That announcement provides collection context, but does not confirm whether the Annual Calendar remains in the current catalog. Check Longines or an authorized retailer in your market for current inventory and the exact reference before making a buying decision. Swatch Group’s August 2026 announcement.
