The Magrette Dual Time name covers more than one watch. This review focuses on the 42 mm stainless-steel model reviewed by WatchReport in 2015, which uses a Miyota 9015 and a crown-operated inner bezel to track a second time zone. It is distinct from the later, 500 m-rated Dual Time 18, which uses an STP1-11 movement.
Which Magrette Dual Time is this review about?
WatchReport’s July 20, 2015 review covered the original stainless-steel Dual Time. Magrette’s archived Dual Time Rose page describes a related 42 mm model with the Miyota 9015 and 200 m water resistance. The later Dual Time 18, launched in 2018, is a separate variant with a different movement and a 500 m rating. Specifications should not be carried from one version to another.
| Model | Movement | Case and stated water resistance | Second-time-zone mechanism | Price and availability evidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dual Time reviewed in 2015 | Miyota 9015 automatic | 42 mm; 200 m | Inner rotating bezel adjusted by the crown at 2 o’clock | WatchReport listed USD 575 as the then-current 2015 price; current stock is not established. |
| Dual Time Rose | Miyota 9015 automatic | 42 mm; 200 m | Upper crown adjusts the inner bezel ring | Magrette’s archived page lists USD 595 historically; the model is archived. |
| Dual Time 18, launched in 2018 | STP1-11 automatic | 42 mm; 500 m | Upper crown adjusts the inner bezel ring | Magrette’s archived page lists USD 695 historically, identifies a 500-piece edition, and marks it sold out. |
These are historical prices, not current offers. Magrette’s official pages identify the relevant models as archived; they do not establish present availability.
How does the 2015 Dual Time track another time zone?
The reviewed watch uses an internal rotating bezel as a second-time-zone indicator. Turn the upper crown at 2 o’clock to move the inner bezel ring, then read the other time against the watch’s hour hand. The lower crown at 4 o’clock sets the time and date. This describes the mechanism without assuming that every owner or seller uses “GMT” in the same way.

The upper crown is therefore the control for the second-zone display, while the 4 o’clock crown handles the watch’s regular time and date. The cited product descriptions do not establish additional functions beyond this inner-bezel arrangement.
What are the 2015 model’s size and specifications?
WatchReport lists the reviewed Dual Time at 42 mm across, 12 mm thick, and 51 mm from lug to lug. The lug width is 22 mm, and the review gives its weight as 95.8 g. The 42 mm diameter is smaller than the 44–45 mm watches that the reviewer said some Magrette customers found too large; the 51 mm length and 95.8 g weight also matter when judging how it will sit on a wrist.
- Movement: Miyota 9015 automatic.
- Crystal: double-domed sapphire with anti-reflective treatment.
- Case and controls: stainless steel, with a screw-down crown and a separate upper crown for the inner bezel.
- Dial: sandwich dial, as described in the review.
- Strap: leather; the reviewer’s sample included two leather straps.
- Water resistance: 200 m, as listed for the reviewed model and the Dual Time Rose.
These are review-era and archived-model specifications, not a claim about every watch bearing the Dual Time name. In particular, the Dual Time 18’s 500 m rating belongs to that later variant.

What did the 2015 review say about the watch?
Don Evans praised the finishing, crystal, packaging, and included straps. His summary was: “As usual, Magrette has excellent case finishing, a sapphire crystal, an automatic movement (in this case the Miyota 9015), a sandwich dial, superb packaging and two leather straps.” These are the reviewer’s impressions of the review sample, not independently measured test results.

If comparing listings or used examples, identify the exact version before relying on a specification. Check the movement, water-resistance marking, inner-bezel operation, case and dial finish, condition, and what straps or accessories are actually included. A listing for the 2015 model should not inherit the Dual Time 18’s 500 m rating.
What strap fits the reviewed 2015 model?
WatchReport gives the reviewed watch a 22 mm lug width and describes its supplied straps as leather, so 22 mm is the documented width to use when considering a replacement or alternate strap for that version. Confirm the exact model and fit before ordering; a shared collection name alone does not guarantee that a strap will suit every variant.
