The distinction matters: NOS describes the movement’s provenance, not an untouched, ready-to-wear condition. Méraud publishes the specifications; the sources cited here do not provide independent performance tests.
What “NOS” means on the Antigua
In watchmaking, “new old stock” refers to older stock that was not previously sold or used as a finished product. For the Antigua, Méraud says it sourced NOS Landeron 248 movements and prepared them for use: the product listing calls the movement “New old stock movement, completely re-assembled,” while the collection page calls it rebuilt and improved. Fratello reported that founder Stijn Busschaert sourced NOS examples and had them revamped. So the watch has a vintage movement, but Méraud does not present it as untouched.
The Landeron 248 dates to an earlier era: Fratello gives its production span as 1937–1970. In the Antigua, the movement is visible through the exhibition caseback and carries a Méraud engraving. The case and presentation make the watch vintage-inspired; the caliber itself is vintage.
How the Landeron 248 chronograph works
Fratello describes the Landeron 248 as a cam-actuated chronograph. Its account places the start pusher at 2 o’clock and the stop/reset pusher at 4 o’clock. Fratello characterizes the pushers as more clicky than those on a column-wheel movement; that is its description, not a universal measurement of pusher feel.

Méraud lists a hand-wound, 31 mm-diameter, 6.2 mm-high caliber with 17 jewels and a frequency of 18,000 beats per hour (2.5 Hz). The layout has small seconds at 9 o’clock and a 45-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock. Méraud states a 41-hour power reserve. These are published specifications, not independently measured results in the cited sources.
Case size, materials and water resistance
Méraud lists a 40 mm 316L stainless-steel case, 48.6 mm lug-to-lug, 13.5 mm thickness and 20 mm lug width. The lug-to-lug figure is useful when considering how the watch may sit across the wrist; the listed lug width also gives a starting point for alternate straps. Check that a replacement strap’s attachment is compatible with your specific watch.

The product pages specify sapphire crystals and a sapphire bezel, plus 100 m/10 ATM water resistance. These are manufacturer-published specifications; the sources cited here do not establish independent water-resistance testing. Méraud lists leather and an additional rubber strap with the watch.

The two listed Antigua variants share the same movement and core specifications. The choice is chiefly about dial appearance and whatever stock is available:
