Mobvoi launched the TicWatch Pro 5 in the United States on May 24, 2023, for $349.99 (the reported UK launch price was £329.99). It was the first smartwatch announced with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 platform, and paired Wear OS with a dual-layer display and a 628mAh battery rated by Mobvoi for up to 80 hours in specified conditions. The watch is Android-only, and the launch price is historical: it is not a verified 2026 selling price. With Mobvoi’s product availability and future support uncertain, the Pro 5 makes more sense as a discounted battery-first option than as a full-price purchase today.
What Mobvoi launched
The TicWatch Pro 5 arrived as Mobvoi’s flagship Wear OS watch, sold initially through Mobvoi and Amazon. Launch materials described a 48mm black Obsidian case with a silicone strap, with other strap options. The reported $349.99 US and £329.99 UK prices were launch prices, not current quotes. Mobvoi’s launch announcement and Wareable’s launch coverage document the initial positioning and availability.
The key idea was not simply a newer processor. Mobvoi combined a large battery with a low-power display layer that can keep basic information visible without relying on the AMOLED screen. A rotating crown with haptic feedback adds a physical way to scroll and navigate. Together, those features made the Pro 5 a distinctive choice for Android users who wanted Wear OS apps without treating daily charging as a given.
How the dual display works
The main screen is a 1.43-inch AMOLED panel with 466 × 466 resolution, layered with an ultra-low-power display. When the watch is in its normal smartwatch role, the AMOLED handles rich color, apps and interaction. The low-power layer can show the time and selected fitness information while using substantially less energy.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Mobvoi says the low-power display can show information such as heart rate, blood oxygen, calories and compass data. During exercise, colored backlighting can indicate heart-rate zones. This makes the display more useful than a simple always-on clock, though it does not make every Wear OS feature available at the same low-power draw. In Essential Mode, normal smartwatch functions are reduced or disabled; it is a deliberate change in capability, not extra battery life with the full experience intact.
Battery life: what “up to 80 hours” means
Mobvoi rates the 628mAh battery for up to 80 hours, but that is a manufacturer maximum tied to Smart Essential Mode conditions, including scheduled behavior that switches the watch into Essential Mode during specified periods. It should not be read as a guarantee of 80 hours with every feature running continuously. The result depends on settings and use, including the AMOLED display, GPS workouts, calls, music, notifications, health monitoring and connectivity. Heavy GPS or workout use, frequent calls or streaming, and an always-on AMOLED setting can all cut endurance; Mobvoi does not establish one universal runtime for every usage pattern. See Mobvoi’s product specifications and battery conditions.

- 5-in-1 USB-C Hub: Experience comprehensive connectivity featuring a Power Delivery input, two USB-A 2.0 ports, a USB-A 3.0 port, and an HDMI port. (Note: The USB-C power delivery input port is only for connecting an external wall charger to power your laptop and cannot power peripheral devices.)
- 90W Pass-Through Charging: Achieve optimal charging with 90W pass-through power to your laptop, supported by a total input of 100W, with the hub reserving 10W for operational efficiency. (Note: Wall charger not included.)
- Quick Data Transfers: Accelerate your productivity with rapid data transfers using a high-speed 5Gbps USB 3.0 port and two 480Mbps USB 2.0 ports.
- 4K HDMI Display: Enhance your visual experience with a hub capable of delivering 4K resolution at 30Hz in both mirror and extend modes. Please note that this hub is compatible with MacBook (macOS 12 and newer), Windows 10 and 11, ChromeOS, and laptops equipped with DP Alt Mode and Power Delivery. Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
- Normal Wear OS use: The watch can use its AMOLED screen and apps, but the advertised maximum does not define a typical runtime for every user.
- GPS and workout-heavy use: GPS, screen use and continuous sensor readings add to power consumption, so expect less endurance than the maximum claim.
- Sleep tracking: Overnight monitoring adds to daily use; charging needs will depend on the rest of your settings and activity.
- Smart Essential Mode: Mobvoi’s advertised 80-hour figure is associated with scheduled transitions into this reduced-function mode.
- Essential Mode: This prioritizes endurance by substantially limiting ordinary smartwatch functionality.
Mobvoi also claims a charge from 0 to 65% in 30 minutes. Its claim that a 15-minute charge can last a day is a manufacturer use-case statement, not a guaranteed result for every mix of settings and activity.

Health and outdoor features
The Pro 5 offers more than 100 workout modes, open-water swimming tracking, continuous heart-rate monitoring, blood-oxygen estimates, skin-temperature sensing, sleep tracking, VO₂ Max estimates and recovery-time estimates. A one-tap feature can measure multiple health metrics. GPS, a barometer and a compass add useful tools for outdoor activity and navigation.
These are consumer fitness and wellness features, not medical tests or diagnoses. Readings can vary with fit, skin contact, movement, activity type and software. The 5ATM and open-water-swimming claims do not mean the watch is suitable for diving, high-pressure water, hot tubs or indefinite submersion. Check the current manual and warranty terms before relying on it for a particular water activity. Mobvoi’s user guide is the relevant reference for operation and care.

What Wear OS adds—and what it does not
At launch, Wear OS brought Google Maps, Google Wallet or Google Pay where supported, YouTube Music, Google Play apps, notifications, quick replies and Bluetooth calls through the watch’s microphone and speaker. Mobvoi Health is needed for setup and companion features. Compatibility requires more than an Android version number: phones need Google Play services and the original Google Play Store, and Android Go devices are excluded. Mobvoi’s compatibility FAQ covers these requirements.
The watch has no identified LTE edition in the launch specifications, so it is not the choice for cellular independence from a phone. Google Assistant availability should not be assumed: launch-era independent coverage noted its absence, but that does not establish the assistant’s status across every later software configuration. Feature availability can also vary by country and account.

What changed from the TicWatch Pro 3 generation
The Pro 5 moved from the older Snapdragon Wear 4100-series platform to the Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1, added the rotating crown, increased the battery to 628mAh, and brought the low-power display more interactive information and heart-rate-zone backlighting. It also raised memory and storage to 2GB RAM and 32GB, and added or highlighted recovery-time estimates, VO₂ Max and open-water swimming.
Mobvoi advertised the W5+ platform as more than twice as fast and more than 50% more power-efficient than Snapdragon 4100+ platform figures. Those are Mobvoi platform comparisons, not independent measurements showing that the whole watch is twice as fast or uses 50% less power in everyday use.
Support and availability change the 2026 buying decision
The Pro 5’s hardware proposition was strong at launch; the uncertainty now is the product’s lifecycle. Reporting in late 2025 and 2026 says TicWatch products were removed or made unavailable through major official sales channels. Mobvoi reportedly said existing devices would continue receiving “essential support,” but did not provide a new TicWatch roadmap. That is not a promised major Wear OS upgrade schedule, and the available reporting does not establish a precise end-of-support date. See Wareable’s status report and 9to5Google’s report on Mobvoi’s statement.
Mobvoi’s product page remaining accessible does not prove that stock, shipping, warranty terms or a $349.99 price are currently available. Before buying, verify the seller, price, return window and warranty for the specific listing. At or near its original launch price, the uncertain availability and support picture makes the Pro 5 difficult to recommend over a newer alternative. A substantial discount improves the case if battery life matters more to you than a clear upgrade path.
Who should consider the TicWatch Pro 5?
It may fit you if
- You use Android and want Wear OS apps, Google payments where supported, and a battery-first design.
- You hike, run or swim and value GPS, a barometer, a compass and a large display.
- You are comfortable with a large 48–50mm-class watch and can buy it at a meaningful discount.
- You accept an older Wear OS generation and a less certain support outlook in exchange for the dual-display design.
Look elsewhere if
- You use an iPhone, need LTE, or want a compact, light watch.
- You prioritize a clear long-term operating-system update path or the newest software features.
- You are a Samsung phone owner seeking the deepest Samsung Health and Galaxy integration.
- You would be paying close to the 2023 launch price in 2026.
Alternatives to compare
| Alternative | Why consider it | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Google Pixel Watch | First-party Google services and a more direct fit with Google’s ecosystem. Google’s Wear OS page lists Pixel Watch models alongside other platform devices. | Its battery proposition is generally less compelling than the TicWatch’s dual-display design; check the exact generation, size and current price. |
| Samsung Galaxy Watch | A stronger fit for Samsung Galaxy owners and a more active mainstream product ecosystem. | Battery life and cross-brand feature compatibility vary by model; check the specific watch and phone pairing. Current product context is covered in Tom’s Guide’s comparison. |
| OnePlus Watch 2/2R family | A Wear OS alternative with a battery-oriented proposition that may be a more current-value purchase. | Exact models and availability differ by region, and it does not have Mobvoi’s dual-display system. Check the OnePlus store for local listings. |
Prices and availability for these alternatives depend on model and region; the cited sources do not establish current prices. Check the relevant regional store before comparing value.
