What makes the MB1 wedge-era inspired?
Monbrey says the MB1 is its first series and draws on the bold silhouettes of 1970s automotive wedge design. Its official collection specifically names the DeLorean and Lamborghini Countach; the campaign description also references the Aston Martin Bulldog and the Cybertruck’s angular aesthetic. These are design inspirations, not claims that the watch reproduces a particular car or a period watch.
The translation is primarily in the case: Monbrey emphasizes crisp angles and multiple facets rather than a conventional round, smooth-sided profile. The campaign-reproduced endorsement from Swiss watch designer Andrea Furlan praises the sobriety of the lines and attention to detail, but remains an opinion rather than an independent assessment.

The campaign names the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Technology Centre as the testing and certification organization for the stated water- and magnetic-resistance tests. That attribution is part of the campaign’s account, not a review of the test documentation.
How is the MB1’s antimagnetic protection described?
Campaign material says a soft-iron Faraday cage surrounds the calibre. It describes the shielding assembly as comprising the cover, movement holder and intermediate bottom, and reports resistance to a direct-current magnetic field of 4,800 A/m.

The campaign also says the ISO 764 acceptance limit for residual rate deviation is below 30 seconds per day and reports an MB1 result of 13 seconds per day. Both the threshold comparison and the reported result are campaign claims, not independent test findings established here. For a buyer comparing antimagnetic watches, the useful distinction is whether a manufacturer or seller provides an accessible test record alongside a figure, rather than relying on a claim alone.

What does the crowdfunding history establish?
The Kickstarter campaign ran from March 7 to April 7, 2023. It recorded 144 backers and HK$427,324 pledged against a HK$70,000 goal. Those figures describe that campaign only; they do not establish broader consumer preference, long-term reliability or market demand. - Fit: The campaign gives a 38.5 mm case diameter, but that alone does not determine how the faceted case will wear. Compare it with a watch that fits your wrist and look for additional dimensions if available.
- Magnetic-resistance evidence: Treat 4,800 A/m and the reported 13-seconds-per-day result as campaign-reported claims unless you can review the relevant test documentation.
- Stock and price: Confirm the selected color, current availability and applicable market price on the official collection page.
- Straps and bracelets: Monbrey describes the supplied Italian calf-leather straps as interchangeable using a pull-and-release system. Connector dimensions and third-party strap compatibility are not established. The brand’s all-products page lists M1 Solid Stainless Steel, M2 Bonklip Stainless Steel and M5 Flat Jubilee bracelets, but does not say they fit the MB1; do not assume they are compatible.
- Marketplace listings: Amazon availability for the MB1 was not verified. A general search for antimagnetic mechanical watches should not be taken as confirmation that the MB1 is sold there.
