The Montblanc Heritage Manufacture Pulsograph and the Heritage Automatic share vintage-inspired styling, but they serve different purposes. The Pulsograph (MB126095) is a manually wound, limited-edition monopusher chronograph with a pulsometer scale; the Heritage Automatic (MB119943) is a simpler three-hand watch with automatic winding. Both cited steel models have 40 mm cases, while the Pulsograph is thicker and offers more functions to operate.

How the Pulsograph works—and who it suits
A chronograph controlled by one pusher
The Pulsograph is a manual monopusher chronograph: its single chronograph pusher controls the timing function, rather than using separate start/stop and reset pushers. Its pulsometer scale is designed to translate a counted number of heartbeats into a rate reading. That doctor-watch association is historical in character; the scale is a mechanical aid, not a substitute for a medical device.
Movement details
A Timely Perspective’s 2019 listing identifies the Pulsograph’s caliber as MB M13.21, with a column wheel and horizontal coupling. It reports a 29.50 mm movement diameter, 6.40 mm height, 239 components, 22 jewels, approximately 55 hours of power reserve, and a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour (2.5 Hz). These are the publication’s reported specifications for the 2019 model, not independent measurements.
The same source lists a 30-pulsation scale. Montblanc’s official page describes the watch as a manually wound manufacture monopusher chronograph; Fratello’s 2019 launch coverage also identifies a column-wheel manual chronograph and confirms the 100-piece edition. (Montblanc; Fratello)

What the Heritage Automatic offers
The MB119943 is the more straightforward daily-timekeeping option: an automatic movement drives hours, minutes and seconds, without a chronograph to start, stop or reset. Montblanc specifies caliber MB 24.27, a 40 mm stainless-steel case, 11.65 mm height, silver-white dial, grey Sfumato alligator strap and 5 bar / 50 m water resistance. Its product page situates the Heritage line in the tradition of historical Minerva wristwatches from the 1940s and 1950s. (Montblanc)
Movement descriptions need to stay tied to the precise watch and source. Felix Scholz’s 2019 hands-on account described the reviewed Automatic as using a third-party movement and being assembled in Le Locle, distinguishing it from Montblanc’s top-tier Villeret manufacture. Montblanc’s current MB119943 product listing names caliber MB 24.27. Those descriptions should not be blended into a claim about every Heritage Automatic or every production version. - The Heritage Collection takes its inspiration from Movado’s archives—reimagining iconic designs from our history with a fresh, modern feel.
- The Heritage Series Ondoplan echoes the distinctive styling of our 1970s Electronic Surf Series, highlighted by a wave-inspired fluted bezel and integrated bracelet. This 36mm watch features a pale gold dial, fluted bezel, and yellow gold-tone hands.
- Refined Swiss Engineering: The quartz watch movement is powered by a battery. The quartz movement provides precise timekeeping and requires minimal maintenance, making it a reliable and worry-free timepiece.
- Caring for your timepiece: Your Movado watch has been developed with meticulous attention to quality, function and detail. A maintenance interval of 3 to 5 years is recommended, in addition to any required battery replacement. Never open the watch yourself.
- Water Resistant: Up to 50m (165ft): Wearable for short periods of recreational swimming and showering, but not diving or snorkeling; 5 ATM.
Shared Heritage styling, but not one fixed specification
Both watches draw on the line’s vintage references, yet “Heritage” covers multiple models, materials and dials. Montblanc’s 2020 brochure, for example, lists a yellow-gold Heritage Automatic reference 126464 with a green dial, alongside a gold Pulsograph limited edition of 100, reference 126095, with a tobacco dial. Those differ from the cited steel MB119943 silver-white Automatic and steel salmon-dial Pulsograph launch model. Confirm the reference, case metal and dial before comparing or buying a specific watch. (Montblanc Timepieces Brochure 2020)
Which one makes more sense for you?
- Choose the Pulsograph if you specifically want a manual chronograph, enjoy operating a mechanical complication, and value the pulsometer scale and 100-piece limited-edition status.
- Choose the Automatic if your priority is a simpler three-hand display and automatic winding in a slightly slimmer cited steel case.
- Check the exact reference if the dial color or case metal matters: Heritage variants do not all share the same specification.
Price and availability
Current pricing, stock and production status are not established here. Time+Tide recorded an Australian recommended retail price of AUD 3,410 for the Heritage Automatic it reviewed on 29 July 2019; that is a historical, location-specific figure, not a current price. (Time+Tide)
