The Nivada Grenchen Antarctic Diver Green is a 150-piece limited edition of the modern Antarctic Diver, offered as 75 date and 75 no-date watches. Its sunray-brushed green dial is the defining change; the 38 mm steel case and Soprod P024 automatic movement carry over the current platform. Nivada listed the watch at $995, CHF 890 or €956 on a strap when it launched, though current price and availability may differ.
What is different about the Antarctic Diver Green?
Nivada Grenchen describes this as a limited edition of 150 pieces, divided evenly between date and no-date versions. The brand says a vintage green dial seen at Cenic Watches near Buren inspired the reissue. Fratello’s January 30, 2025 launch coverage traces the idea to a 1971 Antarctic Sea with a barrel-shaped case. These accounts describe the inspiration; they do not independently establish the vintage watch’s archival provenance.
The contemporary watch retains the modern Antarctic Diver’s 38 mm case, while changing the dial treatment and selected details. Its sunray-brushed green dial is paired with cream-toned luminous indices and hands, vintage-script “Antarctic Diver” text and a black ceramic bezel insert. Compared with the standard black-dial Antarctic Diver, Fratello notes that the green version omits the red crosshairs and uses longer minute-scale indices. The date model has its display at 3 o’clock.

Date or no-date?
The two versions share the green-dial design and platform specifications. The practical choice is whether a date display is useful to you: the date model places it at 3 o’clock, while the no-date version leaves the dial without that window. Nivada describes the edition as 75 examples of each.

Straps, bracelets and fit
Nivada lists leather, steel and rubber options for the green model. Fratello describes Tropic-style rubber, leather, beads-of-rice and flat-link bracelet choices, and notes that bracelet configurations cost extra. The brand’s general Antarctic specifications page gives a 20 mm lug width, but does not explicitly identify this green limited edition. Treat 20 mm as platform-level fit information and confirm compatibility with the exact reference before buying a replacement strap or bracelet.
What one hands-on review reports
Fratello’s Balazs Ferenczi wrote that he wore the watch for most of a week and found it comfortable and legible, attributing those impressions to its size and large hands. He also observed that the bidirectional, non-click bezel could rotate a little. These are one reviewer’s wear impressions, not controlled testing or a guarantee of how the watch will fit or behave for every wearer.
