How should you interpret its depth rating and helium valve?
The 500 m (1,640 ft) figure is the maker’s stated rating; it is not evidence that this watch has been independently tested to that depth. Scurfa says the Heliox escape valve was tested by Paul Scurfa at different depths and gas mixtures, with the deepest decompression reported as 154 metres to the surface. That is a manufacturer-reported test claim, not an independently reproduced result in the sources cited here. The valve alone does not establish suitability for every saturation-diving procedure or use case.
Scurfa describes the collection as designed for diving and watersports, but that is brand positioning. Is the Diver One quartz or automatic?
The featured D1-500 Titanium Orange is quartz: Scurfa lists an ETA F06.412 movement with a date display. It is not an automatic watch. Other Scurfa models and variants may use different movements, so check the exact product listing rather than generalizing from this example.
