The announcement does not establish a new Ploprof or Ultra Deep launch. The Ultra Deep remains a distinct, 6,000-metre-rated collection, while Ploprof appears in OMEGA’s collection index without a newly announced redesign in the official material cited here.
What OMEGA actually announced
OMEGA announced seven fourth-generation Planet Ocean watches on November 18, 2025, describing the collection as a complete redesign. The launch came 20 years after the first Planet Ocean’s 2005 release. OMEGA says the case and bracelet architecture have changed, while the collection retains its ocean identity and signature orange. OMEGA’s announcement is specifically about Planet Ocean; it does not announce new Ploprof or Ultra Deep models.
In a 2026 London event recap, OMEGA said the seven Planet Ocean versions were available worldwide in blue, black, or orange, with rubber-strap and stainless-steel-bracelet options. That is the company’s availability statement, not a guarantee of current stock at a local retailer. OMEGA’s event recap also quotes President and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann describing Planet Ocean as having evolved from an underwater timepiece into a lifestyle piece. That is brand positioning, not an independent evaluation.
How the three names relate
Planet Ocean, Ploprof, and Ultra Deep are not interchangeable names for one new release. The documented redesign is Planet Ocean. Ultra Deep is a separate high-depth collection associated with Planet Ocean, and Ploprof is a distinct Seamaster family. OMEGA’s consulted collection index identifies Ploprof 1200M as a category, but does not substantiate a new Ploprof launch alongside the 2025 Planet Ocean redesign. OMEGA’s Seamaster collection index does not by itself establish that a new model was launched.

What is established about the Ultra Deep
OMEGA’s Hong Kong product page describes the Ultra Deep as a 45.5 mm collection, rated to 6,000 metres (20,000 feet), tested in real ocean conditions, and certified to ISO 6425. These are manufacturer-published specifications and claims. The page lists six O-MEGASTEEL watches and one Grade 5 titanium model. Configurations include bracelet, rubber strap, and NATO strap; OMEGA also describes ceramic bezels and a Grade 5 titanium sonar medallion. See OMEGA’s Ultra Deep collection page.
The collection page identifies calibre 8912 as a self-winding Co-Axial movement, METAS-approved Master Chronometer, resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss, with a 60-hour power reserve. These are OMEGA’s published movement specifications, not a claim that every condition of use will produce the same result.

One reference, with model-specific dimensions
For reference 215.30.46.21.03.002, OMEGA Japan lists a 45.5 mm case diameter, 18.1 mm thickness, O-MEGASTEEL construction, a 6,000 m rating, calibre 8912, and a 60-hour power reserve. Its page specifies ISO 6425:2018 and METAS Master Chronometer certification. Those dimensions belong to that reference; they should not be assumed for every Ultra Deep variant. OMEGA Japan’s reference page also recounts that two 2019 concept watches accompanied Victor Vescovo’s Mariana Trench dive. OMEGA reports the dive depth as 10,935 m (35,876 ft); the cited product page is the source for that account.
What to compare before choosing
A useful comparison needs exact references and regional product pages. A collection-level rating or case diameter cannot answer every fit, movement, or availability question.

- Water resistance: compare the stated rating for the exact reference, and distinguish a manufacturer specification from an independent test.
- Size and fit: check both diameter and thickness. The cited Ultra Deep reference is 45.5 mm by 18.1 mm; the available sources here do not provide a matching current Ploprof specification.
- Material and weight: confirm the case material and weight for the precise model. OMEGA identifies six Ultra Deep models in O-MEGASTEEL and one in Grade 5 titanium, but the cited information does not provide a full weight comparison.
- Movement and reserve: check the stated calibre and power reserve for each reference rather than assuming all Seamaster dive watches share the same movement.
- Wear options: verify whether the specific watch is offered on a bracelet, rubber strap, or NATO strap; availability differs by model.
- Price and stock: check OMEGA or a local authorized retailer for the exact reference and region. No current price or inventory comparison is established here.
What remains unclear about Ploprof
The official material cited for this article does not confirm a new Ploprof announcement connected to the Planet Ocean redesign, nor does it provide enough current Ploprof specifications for a reliable three-way model comparison. Treat “new Ploprof” as unconfirmed rather than inferring a launch from the presence of a Ploprof category in OMEGA’s collection index. A model-by-model comparison should wait for an official announcement or product page specifying the reference, dimensions, materials, movement, rating, and regional price.
