OnePlus did not unveil the OnePlus Watch 3 on June 27, 2024. That date marked a China-focused launch built around the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro, OnePlus Pad Pro, OnePlus Watch 2 and a Buds-related audio announcement. The actual OnePlus Watch 3 arrived later, with an official U.S. and Canadian launch on February 18, 2025.
What happened on June 27, 2024?
OnePlus held a China-market product event on June 27, 2024. Contemporary reporting described four expected announcements, but the pre-launch product names were not reliable. A June 21 OnePlus Community post listed “Watch 3” and “Buds Pro 3”; those names were later shown to be speculative or incorrect for the event. The community post is useful evidence of how the confusion began, not confirmation that those products launched that day.
PhoneArena identified the event as China-focused and reported the smartwatch as the OnePlus Watch 2 rather than a Watch 3. Most of the products were initially aimed at China, so the event should not be treated as a global or North American launch.

OnePlus Ace 3 Pro
The Ace 3 Pro was the event’s headline phone. Its Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform, 6,100mAh battery and 100W wired charging placed it in OnePlus’ high-performance Ace line. Those specifications describe the China product; they do not establish a global retail model or a one-to-one equivalent elsewhere.

OnePlus Pad Pro
The Pad Pro was the China tablet. OnePlus later announced a Pad 2 for international markets, but the names alone do not prove that Pad Pro and Pad 2 are the same retail device. Buyers should check the regional model number, cellular options, keyboard and stylus compatibility, software build and warranty before importing either model.
OnePlus Watch 2
The watch associated with June 27 was Watch 2. Calling it Watch 3 changes the generation and can lead readers to expect hardware, software and battery claims that belonged to a product not yet announced.
The fourth, Buds-related announcement
Audio naming was unsettled before launch. Some coverage referred to Buds 3 or a new color, while the OnePlus Community post used Buds Pro 3. Because those labels conflict, it is more accurate to describe the fourth item without asserting an unverified final model name.
Why the Watch 3 name spread
The error likely began with the pre-launch community post, which listed “OnePlus Watch 3” alongside the other expected products. A plausible next-generation name was then repeated as if it were confirmed. The later existence of a real Watch 3 made old headlines even easier to misread: readers encountering the June 2024 story after 2025 could reasonably assume it referred to that later watch.

Model numbers also vary across OnePlus launches. Watch 2, Watch 2R and Watch 3 are distinct products, just as Pad Pro and Pad 2 should not be treated as interchangeable without a manufacturer statement.
Do not confuse it with the July Milan launch
OnePlus held a separate international summer event in Milan on July 16, 2024. Its official announcement named four different products: the OnePlus Nord 4, OnePlus Pad 2, OnePlus Watch 2R and OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro. OnePlus’ Milan release is the source for that lineup.
That sequence explains why several “four new products” headlines circulate from the same summer. The June 27 event was China-focused; the July 16 event was the international launch; neither announced the Watch 3.

OnePlus officially launched the OnePlus Watch 3 in the United States and Canada on February 18, 2025—months after the June 2024 event. The company’s release lists Wear OS 5, claimed battery life of up to five days in smart mode and 16 days in power-saver mode, plus a claim that 10 minutes of charging can provide a full day of use.

The same release highlights dual-frequency GPS, more than 100 sports modes, a titanium-bezel and stainless-steel construction, and a 60-second Health Check-In feature. These are OnePlus’ product claims for the later Watch 3; they are not specifications of the June 27, 2024 Watch 2 event. Health Check-In is a consumer wellness feature, not evidence of medical diagnosis or clinical validation.
Later 43mm model
OnePlus also listed a smaller Watch 3 43mm in a 2025 summer lineup. That announcement is another later product reference and should not be folded into the June 2024 timeline.
Which product is relevant to a buyer?
- Checking the June 27 China event: Look for the Ace 3 Pro, Pad Pro, Watch 2 and the Buds-related announcement.
- Wanting the actual Watch 3: Look for the February 18, 2025 model and verify local compatibility and support.
- Wanting the international 2024 summer products: The relevant lineup is Nord 4, Pad 2, Watch 2R and Nord Buds 3 Pro.
- Wanting a smaller Watch 3: The 43mm version belongs to the later 2025 lineup.
Checks before importing or buying
- Confirm the exact regional model number and whether cellular service is supported.
- Check the Wear OS version, phone requirements and OHealth app compatibility.
- Verify warranty, repair coverage and language support in your country.
- Use an official local sales page for current price and stock; historical announcements do not establish availability in August 2026.
A historical U.S. MSRP of $349.99 for the Watch 3 was reported by OnePlus Community in April 2025, but that is not a current August 2026 price. Treat it only as a dated price reference.
The Bottom Line
The accurate version is simple: June 27, 2024 was a China launch for the Ace 3 Pro, Pad Pro, Watch 2 and a Buds-related announcement. OnePlus Watch 3 was not part of it; the genuine Watch 3 launched internationally on February 18, 2025.
