A Spanish-language promotional video reportedly leaked before Google’s August 13, 2024 hardware event and showed the Pixel Watch 3 in two sizes: the familiar 41mm case and a new 45mm model. Android Headlines published the footage and attributed the leak to Steve Hemmerstoffer (OnLeaks). Google later confirmed the larger watch, smaller bezels and the rest of the core platform. The leak was substantially right about the headline hardware change, but its unverified battery and feature claims should be separated from Google’s final specifications.
What the leaked Pixel Watch 3 video showed
The report described a leaked Google promotional video rather than a still render. It was reportedly in Spanish and appeared to show both the 41mm Pixel Watch 3 and the new 45mm version. The round case, crown near the 3 o’clock position and overall Pixel Watch silhouette remained recognizable, while the bezels appeared narrower. The footage also presented the watch as a fitness-focused product, showing running guidance, personal-best or race-performance tracking, Cardio Load and a Morning Brief-style summary.
Android Headlines called the material an exclusive and associated it with leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer, widely known as OnLeaks. The video should be treated as leaked or reposted footage, not as Google intentionally publishing the product. The report mixed observations from the video with specifications that were not confirmed until launch.

Why the 45mm case mattered
Earlier Pixel Watches offered one compact case size. Adding a second size addressed that limitation without turning the 45mm watch into a separate Pro model. It is the same Pixel Watch 3 generation, with the main differences being case size, display area, weight, battery capacity, band fit and charging time.
#1 Best Overall

| Model | Screen-area claim | Weight without band | Band ranges | Case height |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 41mm | About 10% more screen area than Pixel Watch 2 | 31g | Small: approximately 130–175mm; large: 165–210mm | 12.3mm |
| 45mm | About 40% more screen area than Pixel Watch 2 | 37g | Small: approximately 150–185mm; large: 165–215mm | 12.3mm |
Google’s sizing guidance is based on wrist circumference, not gender or the size of a previous watch. Choose 45mm if larger text, maps and workout metrics matter more than low weight. Choose 41mm if you want a less prominent case, have a smaller wrist or prefer the lower launch price. The 45mm watch is heavier and may feel bulky on a narrow wrist.

Visual changes: evolutionary, not a redesign
The leak suggested reduced bezels while retaining the circular Pixel Watch identity. Google later confirmed a brighter Actua display and smaller bezels. Both sizes use a 320 ppi AMOLED LTPO panel with a 1–60Hz refresh range, up to 2,000 nits peak brightness and custom 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The evidence supports a larger presentation and more usable screen area, not a wholesale exterior redesign.

Fitness and recovery features
The video’s references to Cardio Load, running advice and readiness information aligned with Google’s final software announcement. Confirmed features include:
- Daily Readiness: a Fitbit insight using factors such as heart-rate variability, sleep and resting heart rate.
- Cardio Load: an estimate of how hard the heart is working during activity and across the day.
- Target Load: a recommended activity level based on recent training and recovery information.
- Workout Builder: structured workouts created on the watch or in the associated software.
- Running guidance and form analysis: real-time coaching plus motion-sensor and machine-learning analysis of cadence, stride length, stride height and ground-contact time.
The leak’s Morning Brief reference belongs to the pre-launch report; Google’s announcement confirmed the broader readiness and training framework. These are wellness and training metrics, not medical diagnoses.

Battery and charging: what Google actually rated
The leaked report mentioned roughly 24-hour endurance and faster charging. Google’s final figures are more precise. Both sizes are rated for up to 24 hours with the always-on display enabled, or up to 36 hours in Battery Saver mode. The 45mm case has a larger battery but no higher official endurance rating.
| 41mm | 45mm | |
|---|---|---|
| Typical battery | 307mAh | 420mAh |
| Always-on display | Up to 24 hours | Up to 24 hours |
| Battery Saver | Up to 36 hours | Up to 36 hours |
| Charge to 50% | About 24 minutes | About 28 minutes |
| Charge to 80% | About 35 minutes | About 50 minutes |
| Charge to 100% | About 60 minutes | About 80 minutes |
Actual endurance changes with LTE, GPS, workouts, notifications, display settings and other features. The leak’s reported “20% faster charging” comparison applied to the 41mm model versus the previous generation; it should not be generalized to the 45mm watch, which had no same-size predecessor.
What Google confirmed after the leak
Google announced Pixel Watch 3 on August 13, 2024, and began retail availability on September 10, 2024. US launch pricing was:
| Configuration | Launch price |
|---|---|
| 41mm Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi | $349.99 |
| 41mm LTE | $449.99 |
| 45mm Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi | $399.99 |
| 45mm LTE | $499.99 |
The $50 Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi premium bought the larger case and display, not a faster processor or a fundamentally different sensor platform. Google also advertised six months of Fitbit Premium with the watch; continued access after that trial can require a subscription. Live prices and promotions change, so verify the amount at checkout.

Core specifications and compatibility
- Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 processor with Cortex-M33 co-processor
- Wear OS 5.0, 32GB eMMC storage and 2GB SDRAM
- Bluetooth 5.3; dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi‑Fi
- GPS, Galileo and GLONASS
- 5 ATM water resistance and IP68 rating
- ECG-compatible electrical sensors and a multi-path optical heart-rate sensor
- Accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, altimeter, barometer, magnetometer, skin-temperature, ambient-light and cEDA-related sensing
Compatibility covers most Android phones running Android 10.0 or newer, with a Google Account and the Pixel Watch app. iPhones are not supported. LTE calling, messaging, navigation and emergency functions require a compatible carrier and may vary by country.
Choosing 41mm, 45mm, LTE or Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi
Pick 45mm when visibility is the priority
The larger display is better for reading notifications, following maps and viewing multiple workout fields. It suits larger wrists and people who prefer a substantial watch, but it weighs 6g more and costs more at launch.
Pick 41mm for a compact, lighter fit
The 41mm model is easier to wear on smaller wrists, less conspicuous and cheaper. It uses the same processor, operating system and broad sensor set, so selecting it does not mean giving up a higher-tier health platform.
Choose LTE only for phone-free use
LTE is useful for runners and travelers who want calls, messages, streaming, navigation or emergency functions without carrying a phone. Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi is the better value when your phone is normally nearby and you do not want a carrier-connected wearable plan. Confirm carrier support before buying.

Health, safety and durability limits
Loss of Pulse Detection can potentially detect a sudden loss of pulse and call emergency services, but availability depends on country, regulatory approval, connectivity and device configuration. It is not a replacement for emergency planning, medical care or guaranteed response. ECG and other health functions can also have regional, age and app restrictions.
The 5 ATM and IP68 ratings do not make the watch indestructible. Avoid scuba diving and high-pressure water, and remember that seals can deteriorate after impact, repair or prolonged wear.
Verdict
The leaked video’s central reveal was meaningful: the Pixel Watch line finally gained a choice of case sizes, and Google delivered the promised 45mm model. The finished Pixel Watch 3 remains an evolutionary design with smaller bezels, a brighter display and stronger running and recovery tools. The larger case improves readability but adds weight and cost, while both sizes retain the same official 24-hour always-on battery estimate. Buyers should choose by wrist circumference and display preference, then decide whether LTE connectivity and a potential Fitbit Premium subscription justify their added costs.
