The two watches are closer on paper than in character. Both are 39 mm automatic divers rated to 200 metres, with a date window and a sapphire crystal. The Oris Divers Date costs more, and on its US page it lists USD 2,800 against USD 1,790 for the DOXA SUB 200T Professional. It is also the longer, thicker watch on the wrist. The DOXA is the more distinctive of the two, with a compact, tool-watch look and a wide choice of colors. Which one is better looking is a matter of taste, and the two Fratello writers who compared them in October 2024 chose differently.
Specifications side by side
The figures below come from each brand’s official product page (US listings, accessed October 2026) unless a row says otherwise. Oris’s lug-to-lug and thickness figures come from Fratello’s 2024 comparison, not from Oris.

Size and fit
Both watches share a diameter, but they don’t wear the same. The DOXA is 41.5 mm long and 10.7 mm thick. Fratello puts the Oris at 46 mm lug-to-lug and 12.1 mm thick. That is a gap of 4.5 mm in length and 1.4 mm in height. If you have a small or flat wrist, the DOXA’s shorter, slimmer case is the easier fit. The Oris will sit larger and taller than its 39 mm figure suggests. The only dependable test is to try both on.
The strap width also differs: 18 mm on the DOXA and 19 mm on the Oris. The difference matters if you plan to swap straps, because an off-the-shelf strap for one will not fit the other. Check compatibility for your exact reference before you buy a replacement.

Movement and power reserve
Both run at 28,800 vibrations per hour. The official reserves are 38 hours for DOXA and 41 for Oris. Three hours is too small to matter in everyday use. Either watch will probably need resetting after a weekend off the wrist.
Fratello describes the Oris Caliber 733 as based on the Sellita SW200-1 with a customized rotor. That is the publication’s description, not wording from Oris. The DOXA page gives the figures above but no further detail in the sources reviewed here.

Water resistance and bezel
Both are listed at 200 metres, so neither has an edge on depth rating. The bezels differ in purpose. DOXA’s page describes its bezel scale as the US Navy no-decompression table, a feature of the SUB line. Oris describes a ceramic top ring with a minutes scale. Oris says the Divers Date’s design and performance upgrades include “a ceramic bezel insert and water resistance to 20 bar (200 metres).”
Design and character: the reviewers’ view
Fratello published the head-to-head on October 27, 2024. It describes the Oris as an update of the Divers Sixty-Five. It has a new 39 mm case, a 200 m rating, a ceramic bezel insert, a redesigned bezel grip and a quick-release bracelet. A Tropic-style rubber strap is included. Three dial styles were available at the time of the piece. The DOXA, in their account, is a smaller, thinner take on the SUB family. It has the signature no-decompression bezel scale and an unusually broad range of dials and straps.

The reviewers agreed on the broad contrast, not on the winner. These are personal judgments, not measurements:
- Jorg Weppelink preferred the Oris for its overall execution and for being the more versatile everyday watch.
- Michael Stockton preferred the DOXA for its distinctive design, comfort, range of options and lower price.
In short, the Oris reads as the more conventional vintage diver and the DOXA as the more individual, tool-like one.

On the US official pages, the Oris costs USD 1,010 more than the DOXA (USD 2,800 against USD 1,790). Oris’s Irish page lists EUR 2,450. In 2024, Fratello quoted EUR 2,450 for the Oris and EUR 1,590 for the bracelet DOXA. Those 2024 numbers are historical, and the Oris figure happens to match the current Irish listing. Don’t compare a US price with a euro price, or a 2024 price with a current one.
The packages differ. The Oris listing here is a Set: stainless bracelet plus an extra black rubber strap. The DOXA is offered on its Beads of Rice bracelet or an FKM rubber strap, and DOXA’s range includes several dial and strap variants. Check the exact variant’s price in your market before you decide. Prices, warranty terms and stock all vary by location and date.

Which should you choose?
- Choose the DOXA if you have a smaller wrist, want a slimmer case, or want a bolder look with more colors to pick from. It also costs less in both the US listing and the 2024 EU comparison.
- Choose the Oris if you want a more conventional, versatile vintage diver, a ceramic bezel ring, a slightly longer reserve, and a bracelet and rubber strap in the box. Be ready for the larger footprint and the higher price.
Neither watch wins on looks. Try both, ideally on your own wrist, and pick the one you’d rather put on every morning.
