The Oris ProPilot X Calibre 400 Laser is a 39 mm titanium automatic watch with a no-date dial and a five-day power reserve. Its signature is a laser-treated surface that reflects blue, green and violet light rather than relying on colored pigment, so the dial’s appearance shifts with the viewing angle.
What is the ProPilot X Calibre 400 Laser?
It is Oris reference 01 400 7778 7150-07 7 20 01TLC, a 39.00 mm multi-piece titanium watch on a titanium bracelet. The layout is deliberately simple: central hours, minutes and seconds, with no date. Oris lists the watch at 10 bar water resistance and gives the bracelet a 20 mm interhorn width. Its domed sapphire crystal has anti-reflective coating on the inside. Oris product specifications

How does the laser dial work?
The dial’s changing colors are an optical effect: Oris says the blue, green and violet finish comes from reflected light, not pigment. In its 2025 image booklet, Oris describes developing the dial with an ETH Zürich research collaboration and says a second laser technique gives the logo, indexes and minute track a raised, three-dimensional appearance. The Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry likewise describes laser processing that breaks light into component colors which vary with the viewing angle. Oris 2025 image booklet; Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry, 30 November 2023
That means the dial is not a conventional painted gradient, and it does not contain an active light source. The color depends on reflected light and angle, so photographs or a single description cannot establish exactly how it will look in every setting. Anyone for whom dial contrast or legibility is decisive should inspect the watch in person under different lighting.

What does Calibre 400 offer?
Calibre 400 is an automatic movement with a stated 120-hour reserve, or five days, and a 4 Hz frequency. The long reserve can be useful if the watch is set aside over a weekend: within the stated reserve, it should not need winding simply because it has been unworn for two days. The no-date display also avoids a calendar complication, though it will not suit someone who wants the date on the dial.
The Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry’s 2023 release report gives an accuracy figure of plus or minus three to five seconds per day and says that this corresponds to COSC standards. This is a published movement specification attributed to the Federation, not an independent measurement of an individual watch. Federation report

Is it the right size and material for you?
The listed case diameter is 39 mm, but diameter alone cannot establish how a watch will fit: the product details cited here do not state its thickness or weight. Titanium and a titanium bracelet define the material choice, while the 20 mm interhorn width is useful when considering alternatives. Oris lists colored 20 mm rubber straps as fitting straps, but buyers should follow the brand’s fit guidance rather than assume that any strap of the same width will fit.
The 10 bar rating is a published water-resistance specification, not a promise of suitability for every activity or a direct conversion to a guaranteed real-world depth. Match it to your intended use and check the manufacturer’s guidance.

What do warranty, service and price mean in practice?
Oris’s product listing displays a two-year base warranty and says free MyOris registration extends it to ten years. The same listing states a ten-year service interval. Those are Oris terms, not a guarantee that every repair or condition is covered for the full period; check the registration requirements, coverage and local terms with Oris or an authorized seller. Price depends on market. In product-page results retrieved in 2026, the Finland locale displayed EUR 5,000 and the Netherlands locale EUR 4,900. These are market-specific displayed prices, not a universal or permanent price; check the current listing for your country before comparing or buying.

Is the Oris ProPilot X Calibre 400 Laser worth considering?
It is most compelling for someone who wants an unusual, angle-dependent dial, titanium construction, a compact listed diameter and a five-day reserve, and who is comfortable with a no-date layout. The trade-offs to assess are equally specific: whether the dial remains easy to read for you, whether 39 mm fits your wrist, whether the 10 bar rating matches your use, and whether the local price and warranty conditions work for your budget and expectations. The published specifications establish what Oris offers, but they cannot substitute for trying the watch on or seeing its dial in person.
For the exact reference and current regional terms, start with Oris’s official listing. The Federation’s 2023 release report and the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève entry also describe the model and its laser dial.
