The Oris ProPilot X Kermit and UNIMATIC Modello Uno U1S-HS2 Mickey Mouse are playful mechanical watches, but they express that playfulness in opposite ways. How the character appears on each watch
Oris: Kermit as a monthly detail
The Kermit Edition has a green dial, but the character is not a permanent dial illustration. Kermit appears in the date window on the first day of each month, a feature Oris calls “Kermit Day.” That makes the collaboration relatively discreet in day-to-day wear, with its most obvious character detail appearing periodically.
UNIMATIC: Mickey on the dial
The U1S-HS2 gives Mickey Mouse a visible role in its silver-grené dial artwork. Fratello describes it as one of three Mickey depictions in a series made with Disney and Highsnobiety, with the designs connected to different eras of the character. This is the more overt choice: the collaboration is apparent without waiting for a particular date.

In its 2025 booklet, Oris Creative Director Ken Laurent described the Kermit watch’s purpose this way: “This watch’s function is to make people smile.” That is the brand’s statement of intent, not an independent assessment of how every wearer will respond.
Movement and everyday ownership
Oris Calibre 400
Oris specifies an automatic Calibre 400 with a 120-hour (five-day) power reserve. That long stated reserve can be useful if you rotate watches and leave the Kermit unworn for a few days. Oris’s 2025 booklet also gives a ten-year recommended service interval; this is the manufacturer’s guidance, not a guarantee that every watch will need no attention for that period.

UNIMATIC Sellita SW200-1
UNIMATIC lists an automatic Swiss Sellita SW200-1 for the U1S-HS2. The visible official product text does not state a power-reserve figure. If reserve duration matters to your decision, check the technical sheet linked from UNIMATIC’s product page rather than assuming a number from the movement name.
Case, water resistance and fit
The Oris is 39 mm across and uses a multi-piece titanium case with a titanium bracelet; its listed water resistance is 10 bar. The UNIMATIC is a stainless-steel design with a 40 mm case that measures 41.5 mm including the bezel, and a stated rating of 300 m / 30 ATM. Those headline measurements do not by themselves determine comfort: wrist shape, bracelet or strap fit, and the bezel’s presence all affect how a watch wears.

Water-resistance ratings are manufacturer specifications, not a substitute for operating guidance or an assessment of a particular watch’s condition. Follow the maker’s instructions for use, especially before swimming or diving. The official pages list 20 mm interhorn width for the Oris and 22 mm strap width for the UNIMATIC, so straps should be matched to the individual watch rather than treated as interchangeable.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the Oris if you want a titanium-bracelet watch, a stated five-day reserve, and a character detail that appears in the date window once a month.
- Choose the UNIMATIC if you prefer visible character artwork, a stainless-steel dive-watch design, and the higher stated water-resistance rating.
- Compare carefully if reserve is decisive: Oris publishes a 120-hour figure; the visible UNIMATIC product text does not, so confirm its technical sheet before drawing a numerical comparison.
- Check local availability first: the official listings consulted showed purchase limitations, and their displayed prices use different currencies and storefronts.
Fratello’s 2023 “Sunday Morning Showdown” framed the choice as “Mickey Mouse or Kermit the Frog?” and presented the watches as playful objects; its reviewers’ preferences are opinions rather than objective rankings. The useful deciding question is whether you want the character to be a recurring private surprise or a feature that is plainly on display.
