The Patek Philippe Nautilus 5980/60G-001 is a white-gold flyback chronograph distinguished by its blue-gray opaline dial, a single combined chronograph counter at 6 o’clock and two supplied blue-gray straps. Patek Philippe lists a 40.5 mm case, 12.2 mm thickness and self-winding CH 28-520 C movement. The details below describe the manufacturer’s published configuration, not a hands-on inspection.
What is the Patek Philippe Nautilus 5980/60G-001?
It is a Nautilus flyback chronograph with a date display, introduced as a white-gold version in Patek Philippe’s 2024 Watches and Wonders announcement. The broader 5980 chronograph line dates to 2006; Patek says rose-gold and two-tone steel/rose-gold versions had been offered since 2010. The 5980/60G-001 is a distinct configuration, not a generic description of every 5980.
Patek described the new version as having a slightly enlarged dial opening and a CH 28-520 C movement that groups the chronograph indications in one large monocounter at 6 o’clock. Patek Philippe’s 2024 announcement gives that launch context.
Is the 5980/60G-001 white gold?
Yes. The case and applied hour markers are white gold, as is the Nautilus fold-over clasp. The dial is blue-gray opaline with horizontal embossing; rounded baton-style hands and baton-style markers have white luminous coating. A date aperture sits at 3 o’clock.

Patek Philippe lists two blue-gray straps with different finishes:

- Composite material with a fabric pattern and white stitching.
The two-strap package gives the watch distinct surface treatments while keeping the same blue-gray color family. The manufacturer does not describe these as a bracelet configuration.

How does the chronograph work, and what does the counter show?
The watch is a flyback chronograph. Its large subdial-like monocounter at 6 o’clock combines 60-minute and 12-hour chronograph indications rather than separating them into two counters. A central chronograph hand provides the seconds indication. Patek specifies a vertical clutch for the chronograph.
The flyback function allows the chronograph to be reset and restarted in one operation. The date remains a separate display at 3 o’clock; Patek lists no additional travel-time function for this reference.

How thick is the 5980/60G-001?
Patek Philippe lists a case diameter of 40.5 mm, measured across from 10 to 4 o’clock, and a thickness of 12.2 mm. The product page also specifies a screw-down crown and water resistance to 30 m. These are the maker’s stated dimensions and rating; they do not establish how the watch wears on a particular wrist or how a specific watch performs after use.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How does it differ from other Nautilus references?
The reference number matters: the 5980/60G-001 is the white-gold, blue-gray-dial flyback chronograph with date and a combined counter. Patek identifies 5990/1R-001 as a similar watch on its product page, but the 5990 adds Travel Time; it is not the same complication set. The 5980/60G-001 is described as a flyback chronograph and date watch, not a Travel Time model.

Other 5980 versions should not be assumed to share this reference’s metal, dial, dimensions, or strap package. Patek’s 2024 account distinguishes the 5980 line’s earlier rose-gold and two-tone steel/rose-gold offerings from this newly presented white-gold version.
Is the Patek Philippe 5980/60G-001 discontinued?
Patek Philippe’s collection page, checked in 2026, places the 5980/60G-001 among models discontinued from the collection. That describes the manufacturer’s displayed collection status at that check; it does not establish whether a particular retailer or pre-owned seller has one available, nor does it establish a market value.
Price and warranty considerations
Patek Philippe’s product page displayed £72,460 in its UK localized view when checked, while a search result in another locale showed $89,773. Those are separate localized page displays, not a single global price or evidence of a completed sale. Confirm the current regional listing directly with Patek Philippe before relying on either figure.
In its 2024 Watches and Wonders release, Patek Philippe said that new watches sold from May 1, 2024 receive a five-year warranty, increased from two years, counted from the date of purchase. For an individual 5980/60G-001, eligibility depends on its sale date and warranty documentation. Patek also says its International Customer Service network pledges to service, repair or restore watches produced by the manufacture since 1839.
