Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Google began a phased July 2025 Pixel Watch update in Japan and Singapore on July 21, bringing those markets the June feature set and a fix for a specific emergency-calling problem. The listed build is BW1A.250605.004.J2; Google identifies Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Watch 3 cellular users in its version information. Google’s rollout announcement said delivery would continue over the following couple of weeks.
What the update changes
Emergency calling on an unprovisioned cellular watch
The main regional fix is for emergency calling when a cellular-capable watch does not have cellular service provisioned. Google says emergency calling should work for a SIM-less watch operating in Bluetooth-tethered mode. That addresses a particular connection scenario; it is not a guarantee that every Pixel Watch can place an emergency call in every country or network condition. Google’s emergency-safety guidance explains that call availability differs by watch connectivity and whether a paired phone is nearby.
June features are included
The regional release also carries the features from the June update. Those included setting favorite home controls separately for each watch and faster public-transit payments through Google Wallet Express Transit on Wear OS. Google’s June announcement describes the feature set; Verizon’s Pixel Watch update notes also cite stability and performance improvements for the broader June release.
Which watches and countries are covered?
The July announcement is specifically for eligible Pixel Watch devices in Japan and Singapore. Its version listing names Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Watch 3 cellular users. Google’s broader “all eligible” wording does not establish that every generation or Wi-Fi-only model received this exact build, so owners of other variants should check their own update notice rather than assume coverage.

This is a regional follow-up, not a global July release. Japan and Singapore cellular devices were excluded from the initial June rollout and were due an update later, according to Google’s June notice. The June baseline was BW1A.250605.004; the regional build adds the .J2 suffix.
Why it arrived in July—and whether it includes Gemini
The timing reflects the delayed delivery of the June software to cellular devices in these two markets, with the emergency-calling correction included. It should not be mistaken for a standard July security-patch release: the July 2025 Pixel Watch security bulletin lists no Pixel Watch security patches.

Gemini is a separate matter. Google announced Gemini for Pixel Watch separately in its July 2025 Pixel Drop. The regional firmware announcement does not say that this build delivers Gemini, so the two rollouts should not be conflated.

July 21 was the start of a phased rollout, not a promise that every eligible watch would update that day. Google said users would be notified when the software became available.

- After installation, check the watch’s software version; the regional build should read
BW1A.250605.004.J2. - If the rollout window has passed and a Pixel Watch 2 or Pixel Watch 3 cellular device in Japan or Singapore still appears eligible but has not received it, contact Google or the carrier for device-specific help.
Do not place an unnecessary emergency call to test the change. Emergency calling still depends on the model, connection, carrier provisioning, network, and country; Google’s cellular-plan guidance and country and compatibility information describe relevant limitations. Google’s announcement gives no manual sideload procedure for this regional package.
