The REDMI Watch 6 debuted in China in October 2025, with Xiaomi highlighting a brighter display, a thinner body, an added physical button, built-in positioning and long battery-life estimates. Xiaomi Japan later announced sales from May 14, 2026, so availability and configuration depend on the market; the reviewed sources do not establish current stock or pricing everywhere.
Its key figures include a 2.07-inch AMOLED display with up to 2000 nits peak brightness, an approximately 9.9 mm-thick body and a 550mAh battery. These are Xiaomi specifications and usage estimates, not independent test results.

What changed from the REDMI Watch 5?
Xiaomi says the Watch 6 is 1.4 mm thinner than the Watch 5, at about 9.9 mm thick, and adds a secondary physical button. Wareable reported a peak-brightness increase from 1500 nits on the Watch 5 to 2000 nits on the Watch 6. Xiaomi’s 2000-nit figure applies to a specific screen area, not necessarily the entire display at once.
| Feature | REDMI Watch 6 | REDMI Watch 5 |
|---|---|---|
| Peak brightness | 2000 nits | 1500 nits |
| Thickness | About 9.9 mm | About 11.3 mm, as reported by Wareable |
| Physical controls | Crown and secondary button | Secondary button not present, according to the reported comparison |
| Battery capacity | 550mAh | 550mAh, as reported by Wareable |
The thinner body and extra control are straightforward hardware differences. The brightness figures may help outdoor readability, but peak brightness alone does not establish how bright the whole display remains in every condition.

Xiaomi says these figures are based on its internal laboratory testing; actual battery life varies with settings and use. The 550mAh capacity is unchanged from the Watch 5 according to the reported comparison, so the headline estimate should not be read as proof of longer real-world endurance.
