For the Round Black, Ressence lists a titanium case measuring 42.7 mm across and 11 mm thick, a self-winding movement with a 36-hour power reserve, and a displayed price of €24,150 including VAT. The manufacturer’s product page currently marks the listing unavailable, so that price is not confirmation of a purchasable watch or a regional retailer offer.
How the TYPE 1 display tells time
The TYPE 1’s display is built around Ressence’s patented Orbital Convex System, or ROCS. Instead of fixed hands moving over a stationary dial, revolving discs carry the hours, minutes, seconds and day-of-week indications. The Round overview describes the arrangement as a bi-dimensional display; the discs’ indications move as part of the dial rather than behaving like conventional hands on a fixed face.
On the Round Black, the manufacturer specifies a convex German-silver dial with a 125 mm radius and three eccentric, biaxial satellites. The hour-and-minute satellites are inclined at 3 degrees; the seconds and weekday indications are inclined at 4.75 degrees. Ressence fills the indications with Super-LumiNova. Those are manufacturer specifications, not independent findings about legibility or brightness in use.
Ressence describes the aim of the Round design as “the purest expression of time” and “the beauty of simple and sensual shapes.” That is the brand’s design language, not an objective performance claim.

How the Round compares with other TYPE 1 versions
Ressence’s official TYPE 1 pages show differences in case shape and size, alongside variations in dial colour or finish and strap configuration. Each of the three surfaced pages displays €24,150, but those are manufacturer-page prices, not a guarantee of current or identical regional pricing.
| Version | Case diameter | Displayed price on official page | Official overview |
|---|---|---|---|
| TYPE 1 Round | 42.7 mm | €24,150 including VAT on the Round Black listing; listing marked unavailable | Round overview |
| TYPE 1 Squared | 41.5 mm | €24,150 displayed; availability may vary | Squared overview |
| TYPE 1 Slim | 42 mm | €24,150 displayed; availability may vary | Slim overview |
The Squared overview says its ROCS complication module contains 107 parts, including the main and sub-discs, and calls its result “a 3 dimensional dial entirely in motion and everchanging.” That parts count and description refer specifically to the Squared page; they should not be assumed to describe the Round Black’s module.

What this review can—and cannot—establish
The manufacturer’s pages provide a clear account of the display concept, specifications and listed price, but they are not a substitute for hands-on assessment. No independent inspection or testing is established here, so there are no verified observations about timekeeping accuracy, water resistance in practice, wear comfort, legibility, or durability. The product imagery on Ressence’s pages is manufacturer imagery, not original live photography of a reviewed sample.
