The RGM Pennsylvania Tourbillon is a manually wound watch built around RGM’s Caliber MM 2, a tourbillon movement introduced in 2010. Its defining feature is a cage designed to be seen from the front, back and side. RGM’s current product page lists detailed specifications, but shows two different prices for the stainless-steel version, so its current price needs to be confirmed directly with the company.
What is the RGM Pennsylvania Tourbillon MM 2?
“Caliber MM 2 Pennsylvania Tourbillon” is the designation used in the June 2010 issue of Horological Times. RGM dates the watch’s release to 2010 and describes it as created and built in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. It was presented as a small numbered series, with standard and custom orders; RGM has not stated the series’ total production number in the sources cited here.
RGM calls it the first and only serially produced tourbillon in North America. That is the company’s own positioning, not an independently established industry-wide comparison. In a 2021 account, RGM distinguished this 2010 watch from earlier tourbillon projects that used other movements or involved a unique prototype.
How does its tourbillon design work?
A tourbillon places the escapement and balance assembly in a rotating cage. RGM says it developed its own cage for this watch so it could be viewed from three sides, rather than only through the dial or case back. The original design pairs the exposed cage with an inset hour-and-minute dial and a curved sapphire side window.

When RGM announced the watch on June 29, 2010, it described the cage as visible through the front, back and side of the case. A 2016 company retrospective called the Pennsylvania Tourbillon RGM’s second in-house movement, after Caliber 801, and again highlighted the three-sided view.

RGM’s current product page describes 90% of the watch as made in the USA. This is the manufacturer’s claim; the sources cited here do not independently audit the percentage.

Case, dimensions and materials
RGM’s current product page lists the stainless-steel case at 43.3 × 13.5 mm, with a 22 mm lug width and a weight of 2.9 oz. It specifies sapphire crystals at the front and back, a sapphire side window and 5-ATM water resistance.
The launch-era descriptions give approximate dimensions of 43 × 12 mm. That is the figure reported by RGM in 2010 and by Horological Times that June; it differs from the dimensions on RGM’s current product page, so the figures should be understood as source-specific rather than silently treated as identical.

RGM’s 2010 announcement offered the watch in steel or 18K gold. Its current page also refers to platinum, but says to contact RGM for pricing. The available descriptions do not establish a complete, current specification comparison across all case materials.
