The two-tone Datejust 41 introduced at Baselworld 2016 kept its 41 mm diameter but changed the proportions around it. The Yellow Rolesor reference 126333 pairs Oystersteel with 18 ct yellow gold and, in the brochure configuration reviewed here, a champagne dial, fluted bezel, Jubilee bracelet and calibre 3235. Rolex lists approximately 70 hours of power reserve and 100 metres of water resistance.
What the 2016 two-tone Datejust 41 is
“Two-tone” is a familiar shorthand; Rolex calls its steel-and-gold combination Rolesor. Reference 126333 is Yellow Rolesor, combining Oystersteel and 18 ct yellow gold. Its pink-gold-and-steel sibling is reference 126331, called Pink Rolesor. They are distinct configurations, not interchangeable names for the same watch.
The official Rolex reference 126333 product page describes an Oyster 41 mm case with a fluted bezel, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and Cyclops lens over the date, and a Twinlock screw-down crown. Rolex states water resistance of 100 metres / 330 feet. The brochure configuration is paired with a champagne dial and five-piece-link Jubilee bracelet.
What changed from the Datejust II
The headline was not a larger case: the Datejust 41 retained the Datejust II’s 41 mm diameter. In his 12 April 2016 launch review, Brice Goulard of Monochrome Watches described the new case as slimmer-looking, with thinner, more tapered lugs, a thinner-looking bezel and a larger dial opening. He judged the result more balanced and elegant. These are his visual assessments; the cited review does not supply measured comparative dimensions.

The bracelet choice also mattered to the launch. The five-link Jubilee returned alongside the three-link Oyster option. Monochrome described the new Jubilee as solid-link and flexible, with Easylink adjustment; that comfort description is the reviewer’s assessment rather than a claim based on a wear test here. Bracelet and dial combinations depended on the particular reference and launch-market offering, so the 126333 brochure configuration should not be taken to mean every combination was available everywhere.

These are manufacturer specifications, not independent timing, water-resistance or comfort test results. Rolex describes calibre 3235 as “entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex”; that is the brand’s product language, not an independent movement assessment.

Jubilee or Oyster?
The cited official 126333 brochure configuration is the Jubilee. The Jubilee’s five-piece-link design gives the watch a more intricate visual texture, while the Oyster offers a simpler three-link appearance. Monochrome reports both bracelet types in the Datejust 41 launch story, but actual availability depended on reference, dial and market. Check the specific watch’s reference and configuration rather than assuming a bracelet can be specified on every variant.
