Rolex specifies calibre 3285, about 70 hours of power reserve, and water resistance to 100 metres; these are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results.
What the 126711CHNR is
Rolex identifies reference 126711CHNR as an Oyster-cased GMT-Master II in Everose Rolesor, the brand’s term for its combination of Oystersteel and Everose gold. The 40 mm case is paired with a black Chromalight dial, an Oyster bracelet, and a bidirectional bezel with a brown-and-black Cerachrom ceramic insert. The colour scheme is the basis for its familiar “Root Beer” nickname.
It is a two-tone watch rather than an all-gold one: steel and Everose gold are combined in the case and bracelet. The look is more distinctive than a conventional all-steel GMT-Master II, so the key style question is whether you want the contrast of the gold with the darker bezel and dial.
How the dual-time display works
The central hands show local time. A separate arrow-tipped 24-hour hand tracks reference time against the bezel’s 24-hour scale. Rolex describes this hand as displaying “home” time; the bezel supplies the scale against which that hand is read.

The local hour hand can be advanced or moved back independently in rapid-setting increments, making it possible to adjust local time without losing the reference-time display. The bezel is bidirectional and can be rotated to provide another way to interpret the 24-hour hand’s reading; it is not the control that sets the movement’s second time zone.
The date changes instantaneously, and the movement includes stop-seconds, which halts the seconds hand when setting the time. Together, the independent local-hour adjustment and 24-hour hand make the watch useful for tracking two time zones without relying on a digital display.

When checked in 2026, Rolex’s US product page displayed a price of $20,050 for the 126711CHNR. That is a geography-specific, time-sensitive displayed price, not a guaranteed transaction price and not a statement about prices in other countries. Confirm the current local price and availability with an official Rolex retailer; stock was not established here.

What to compare before choosing it
- Material: Compare the 126711CHNR’s Oystersteel-and-Everose Rolesor construction with steel GMT-Master II references and the full-Everose-gold 126715CHNR. Rolex lists the 126715CHNR as a related model, but its price and availability should be checked separately.
- Bezel and overall look: Consider whether you want this brown-and-black insert and two-tone combination or prefer another GMT-Master II bezel colour and material.
- Fit and bracelet: Try the 40 mm case and Oyster bracelet on your wrist if possible. The nominal case diameter cannot tell you how the watch will feel, and the Easylink extension offers only a 5 mm adjustment.
- Local purchase terms: Compare the current price, availability, warranty terms, and service route in your market rather than relying on a price shown for another region.
- Two-time-zone use: Make sure the 24-hour hand and independently set local hour hand suit the way you actually read a second time zone.
How to verify a seller and a pre-owned watch
Rolex states: “Only official Rolex retailers are allowed to sell and maintain a Rolex watch.” Its product page directs buyers to contact an official retailer. Confirm a seller’s status through Rolex or a local official retailer rather than assuming a marketplace listing is authorized. A third-party listing is not, by itself, an official Rolex retail sale.

For a pre-owned example, ask for the watch’s condition, service history, included documents and accessories, and the terms of any seller-provided warranty. Have the watch and its service needs assessed through an appropriate official service route.
