The Rolex Submariner Date 126610LV and 126610LN share the same 41 mm Oystersteel case, calibre 3235, date display and Rolex-stated 300 m water-resistance rating. Their clearest difference is the bezel: green on the 126610LV and black on the 126610LN. This is a specification-based comparison, not a physical hands-on test; comfort, bezel feel and real-world legibility require trying a watch in person.
What is different between the 126610LV and 126610LN?
The bezel color is the main visible distinction in Rolex’s published specifications. The 126610LV has a green Cerachrom ceramic insert, while the 126610LN has a black one. Both are unidirectional 60-minute bezels with platinum-coated numerals and graduations. Rolex’s exact-reference brochures list the following shared and differing details:

Which bezel suits you?
126610LV: green Cerachrom
Choose the 126610LV if the green bezel is the defining feature you want. It makes the watch’s color more noticeable than the black-bezel version. Collectors and editorial coverage may use “Kermit” for the green-bezel watch, but Rolex’s official materials cited here identify it by reference and do not establish that nickname as an official model name. Use 126610LV when precise identification matters.

126610LN: black Cerachrom
The 126610LN keeps the bezel black, giving the watch a more restrained appearance. Whether that feels easier to wear across different settings is a matter of taste, not a difference Rolex quantifies. If you are choosing between them, compare the color on your wrist and with the clothes you expect to wear; specifications alone cannot establish which will feel more versatile to you.
What the shared movement and construction mean
Both references use Rolex calibre 3235, a self-winding mechanical movement. Rolex gives the finished watch a precision specification of −2/+2 seconds per day after casing. The brand’s Submariner overview lists an approximately 70-hour power reserve for calibres 3230 and 3235. These are manufacturer-published figures rather than results from independent timing tests. Both use an Oyster case, sapphire crystal with a Cyclops date lens, and a screw-down Triplock crown. Rolex specifies water resistance to 300 m / 1,000 ft for each reference. That is the manufacturer’s rating; the condition of an individual watch’s seals and service history are separate practical considerations. A specification does not confirm the condition of a particular pre-owned example.
The bezel’s 60-minute scale is intended to let a wearer monitor elapsed time, including underwater. Rolex also describes luminescent hands and markers on the Submariner display. Their performance, along with actual dial legibility and the tactile feel of the bezel, cannot be evaluated from a specification sheet.

How the green Submariner reached the 126610LV
Rolex’s account of the model’s history helps distinguish the current green-bezel reference from its predecessor. The brand dates the Submariner Date to 1969. In 2003, for the model’s 50th anniversary period, Rolex introduced reference 16610LV with a green anodized-aluminum bezel insert and black dial. Rolex says Cerachrom arrived on the Submariner Date in 2010. In 2020, the range moved to a 41 mm case, and the Submariner Date received calibre 3235. What to verify before buying
Rolex’s published specifications establish how the references compare, but they do not tell you the current price, local authorized-retailer stock, wait time, or the condition and authenticity of a particular secondary-market listing. Check those details for your location and the exact watch being offered.

Rolex says Submariner and Submariner Date watches are covered by its Superlative Chronometer certification and an international five-year guarantee. The brand’s overview reports that in 2026 its certification expanded to seven criteria, adding resistance to magnetism, reliability and sustainability to precision, waterproofness, self-winding and autonomy.
