The February 21, 2024 Galaxy Fit3 leak was unusually detailed—and largely accurate. Samsung announced the fitness band the next day, began sales in selected markets on February 23, 2024, and brought it to the United States on January 9, 2025 at a launch MSRP of $59.99. The leak correctly pointed to the 1.6-inch AMOLED screen, 208mAh battery, health sensors, more than 100 workouts and Galaxy-phone controls, but the Fit3 is a connected fitness band, not a full Galaxy Watch replacement.
What the Galaxy Fit3 leak actually was
On February 21, 2024, Android Headlines reported Samsung staff-training and marketing material obtained by TheTechOutlook. Earlier images had shown the broad design, but this material listed hardware and features in far more detail. Samsung had not published a launch date at that point, so the specifications were still claims rather than official facts.
Samsung announced the product on February 22 and confirmed most of the important claims. That makes this a useful case study in a pre-release leak that was substantially validated, while details such as exact dimensions, 2.5D glass and the document’s “101 workouts” wording should remain attributed to the leak.

Display and design: a larger band-style screen
The 1.6-inch AMOLED touchscreen is 45% wider than the Galaxy Fit2’s display, according to Samsung. That extra area improves notification and workout readability while retaining a slim fitness-band format. Samsung lists an aluminum body, one-click strap replacement and more than 100 preset watch faces. The leak also described 2.5D curved glass. Samsung offered Gray, Silver and Pink Gold versions, although color stock varies by country.

Battery and charging claims
The leaked 208mAh battery figure was confirmed in Samsung’s specifications. Samsung rates the Fit3 for up to 13 days per charge and says it can reach up to 65% in 30 minutes using the supplied magnetic USB-C cable.
The 13-day number is not a guaranteed result. Samsung’s simulated typical-use test used 52 notifications, four minutes of text checks, nine minutes of time checks and 30 minutes of workouts over 24 hours. Display settings, measurement frequency, Bluetooth conditions, notifications and workout time can all change the result. Samsung’s support specification and battery notes explain the test and its limitations.

Health and fitness tracking
What it measures
The Fit3 can record heart rate and high- or low-heart-rate alerts, stress, blood oxygen, sleep, menstrual cycles and workouts. Samsung also advertises sleep coaching and snore detection. Automatic workout detection exists for some activities, not every activity, and must be enabled in the Galaxy Wearable app. Samsung’s launch wording is “more than 100 workouts”; the leaked material called out 101.
Safety and phone-assisted features
Fall Detection and Emergency SOS can initiate help through a nearby compatible phone. The band can also control music and media, find a phone and synchronize modes with a paired Galaxy device. These are connected-phone functions, not independent cellular emergency services.

What it cannot diagnose
The Fit3 has no ECG and cannot measure body composition. Heart-rate, oxygen, sleep and fall features are wellness tools, not medical diagnosis. Samsung’s sleep disclaimer likewise says the feature is not intended to detect, diagnose or treat a sleep disorder. Samsung’s product page provides the health and safety limitations.
Galaxy-phone controls and connectivity
Bluetooth 5.3 supports notifications, preset text auto-replies, media controls, Find My Phone and mode syncing. Camera Remote can trigger the camera on a compatible Samsung Galaxy phone, but Samsung requires a supported Android/One UI configuration (including One UI 6.0 or later for the cited feature), the pre-installed Galaxy Camera app and Photo mode. Camera-remote zoom was unavailable as of February 2024.

The 5ATM rating corresponds to resistance up to 50 meters for 10 minutes under specified test conditions. IP68 covers dust and fresh water up to 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes. Samsung warns against diving and high-pressure water activities, so “waterproof” is an inaccurate shorthand.

Compatibility requirements and regional limits
The Fit3 works only with Android phones. Samsung’s stated requirements include Android 10 or later, at least 1.5GB of phone memory, a Samsung account and Samsung Health 6.26 or later for specified health and sleep functions. Pairing with Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Book is not supported.
Basic Android compatibility does not mean every feature works on every Android handset. Camera Remote, some health functions and emergency features can require a Samsung Galaxy phone, specific software, a nearby phone or regional availability. There is no iPhone setup path.

Choose something else if you need

Verdict: an accurate leak, but a deliberately limited product
The Galaxy Fit3 leak was genuine and got most of the retail product right. Samsung confirmed its display, battery, storage, sensors, health tracking and Galaxy integrations shortly afterward. The important qualification is what the leak also foreshadowed: no GPS, NFC, Wi-Fi, speaker, Wear OS or app ecosystem. Treat the Fit3 as a low-cost, phone-dependent fitness band for Android—especially Samsung Galaxy owners—not as a miniature Galaxy Watch.
