Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025), the 47mm LTE model, was listed at $549.99 on August 16, 2026, down from $649.99—a direct $100 discount before trade-in. The watch’s titanium case, sapphire crystal, and water- and environmental-resistance ratings make it a compelling option for outdoor use, but those specifications do not make it indestructible or suitable for every water sport. Samsung also advertised up to $250 in trade-in credit, subject to eligibility.
What the Galaxy Watch Ultra deal includes
The offer is for the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025), a 47mm model with Bluetooth/Wi-Fi and 4G LTE. Samsung listed it at $649.99 and showed a $549.99 promotional price on August 16, 2026. That is $100 off, or about 15.4% below the listed price, without a trade-in. Pricing and availability can change; check the final cart price and selected configuration before buying. The observed price does not establish that every color or configuration is offered at the same price, or that the deal is available through other retailers or carriers.
Samsung also advertised up to $250 in instant trade-in credit. “Up to” is a maximum, not a guaranteed additional discount: the credit depends on the device and promotion terms, and may be affected by its eligibility and condition assessment. At the maximum advertised credit, the $549.99 sale price would come to about $299.99 before tax, but that is a best-case example. Review the live terms at checkout.
Which generation is on sale?
This offer identifies the watch as the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025). Samsung lists the newer Galaxy Watch Ultra2 separately, so do not assume an Ultra-branded deal applies to the same generation. Compare the actual checkout prices and features of both models before choosing; the available information does not establish that the Ultra2 is more durable.

What makes the watch rugged?
Titanium case and sapphire crystal
Samsung lists a titanium case and a sapphire crystal display for the Galaxy Watch Ultra. These materials are intended to withstand everyday wear better than more conventional smartwatch construction, but neither is immune to damage. Sapphire is scratch-resistant, not scratch-proof or unbreakable: a sharp impact, edge strike, or fall onto an abrasive surface can still damage the glass or display assembly. The case, bezel, buttons, and finish can also pick up scuffs, scratches, or dents.
10 ATM and IP68 are different ratings
Samsung lists both 10 ATM and IP68. The company describes 10 ATM as consistent with pressure equivalent to up to 100 meters of water for up to 10 minutes. That is a rating under defined conditions, not permission to dive to 100 meters or a guarantee for every water activity. Samsung describes the IP68 rating as consistent with immersion in up to 6 feet of water for up to 30 minutes. IP68 is an ingress-protection rating under specified test conditions; it is not interchangeable with 10 ATM.

Both ratings describe controlled conditions, not permanent protection. Water resistance can weaken with age, seal wear, impacts, or repairs. Follow Samsung’s model-specific care and activity guidance, especially around salt or chlorinated water, soaps, lotions, and high-pressure water. Do not charge the watch while it is wet.
MIL-STD-810H is not an indestructibility guarantee
Samsung says the watch is consistent with selected MIL-STD-810H environmental testing, covering conditions such as high and low temperatures, altitude, humidity, immersion, salt fog, dust, vibration, and drops. MIL-STD-810H is a family of test methods; that claim does not mean every watch is tested against every method, nor does it guarantee survival in a particular fall, collision, temperature exposure, or instance of misuse. It is more accurate to describe the claim as Samsung’s testing statement than to call the watch “military certified.”

Is it suitable for swimming, hiking, and outdoor work?
| Activity or exposure | Practical guidance |
|---|---|
| Rain and sweat | Consistent with the watch’s water-resistance positioning. Follow Samsung’s care instructions. |
| Pool swimming | Generally aligned with its water-resistance positioning, but check Samsung’s activity restrictions and care guidance. |
| Saltwater or chlorinated water | Use caution and follow Samsung’s cleaning and drying instructions after exposure. |
| Scuba diving | Do not treat a 10 ATM rating as dive-computer approval or unrestricted diving permission. |
| High-pressure water or impact-heavy water sports | Avoid unless Samsung specifically approves the activity; water pressure and impacts can exceed ordinary exposure. |
| Hiking, trail running, and cycling | Good use cases for a rugged smartwatch, though the ratings do not prevent damage from a collision or fall. |
| Climbing, contact sports, or construction work | The materials add protection, not certainty. A compatible protective case or screen protector may be worth considering. |
For outdoor work or activities with repeated knocks, remember that a large 47mm watch can still strike equipment, rocks, or door frames. Protective accessories also need to fit correctly; check compatibility and make sure they do not interfere with buttons, sensors, charging, or water seals.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What to weigh before buying
- Size and fit: A 47mm watch may feel bulky on smaller wrists or during sleep. Samsung’s listing shows a medium/large band range of approximately 145mm to 205mm; check fit before ordering.
- LTE service: LTE is built into the hardware, but using cellular features without a nearby phone may require a compatible carrier plan and additional service charges.
- Phone compatibility: Confirm that your phone supports the Galaxy Wearable and Samsung Health setup and the specific features you want. The watch is a poor fit if you need full iPhone compatibility.
- Trade-in details: Check the exact eligible device, required condition, lock status, assessment process, and return requirements before relying on a quoted credit.
- Generation value: Compare the final 2025 Ultra price with the live Ultra2 price rather than judging by list prices alone. If the newer model’s final price is close, reassess whether the discount is large enough to choose the 2025 version.
- Returns and repairs: Check the current return window and any special conditions for opened wearables. Durable construction does not eliminate repair risk.
Optional protection
On the Samsung purchase page, Care+ was shown at $3 per month or $49 for two years; Care+ with Theft and Loss was shown at $8 per month or $99 for two years. The page also displayed $29 cracked-screen repairs for Care+ and same-day $0 cracked-screen/back-glass repairs for the Theft and Loss option. These are observed plan details, not guaranteed terms for every buyer or date. Before enrolling, confirm the current price, deductible, exclusions, enrollment deadline, and repair availability for your location.
