Firmware Q50XWWU2AXH1 is a roughly 0.64 MB maintenance package that lists improved Bluetooth connection stability and Samsung Health stability. It is not documented as a feature release, and this 2024 build should not be assumed to be the latest Galaxy Ring firmware in 2026.

The update was reported first in the United States through a Samsung Members post dated September 25, 2024, with secondary coverage appearing on September 26. Samsung’s listed build is Q50XWWU2AXH1, and the reported download size is 0.64 MB.

What the changelog actually means
Bluetooth stability
Samsung says the firmware improves wireless-connection stability. That indicates a reliability-focused change, but it does not prove that every instance of a dropped connection will disappear or quantify any performance gain.

Samsung Health stability
The wording does not identify which Samsung Health functions changed. It could relate to communication, synchronization, background processing or general app reliability, but those are possibilities rather than confirmed outcomes. Samsung did not claim more accurate measurements or new health metrics.
What this update does not confirm
The available changelog does not document a new tracking mode, user-interface redesign, battery-life increase, sensor-accuracy improvement or security-patch level. It also does not indicate any change to the ring’s sensors, water resistance, charging case, sizing system or underlying hardware capabilities.
In practical terms, this is a small launch-period bug-fix release, not a feature-packed Galaxy Ring upgrade.

How to check for and install it
The Galaxy Ring is managed through a paired phone using Bluetooth and Samsung’s Galaxy Wearable app. Samsung’s setup documentation is available at samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10003280/, and the broader app support hub is at Samsung’s Galaxy Wearable support page.

- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled and the ring is paired to the phone in Galaxy Wearable.
- Open Galaxy Wearable and select the Galaxy Ring.
- Look for a software-update prompt or a device software-update option.
- Download and install the update if it is offered.
- Keep the ring close to the phone and do not interrupt the installation.
Menu names can differ by phone, region, operating-system version and Galaxy Wearable release, so the exact path may not match every device.
If the update does not appear
A missing prompt does not necessarily indicate a fault. The initial reports covered the U.S., and Samsung can distribute firmware in stages or by regional model. Check the following before taking more drastic action:

- Bluetooth is on and the phone has an active internet connection.
- Galaxy Wearable is updated.
- The ring is charged and sitting in its case.
- The phone and ring use the appropriate Samsung account setup.
- The firmware is available for your regional model variant.
Regional model suffixes matter, so do not assume that Q50XWWU2AXH1 applies to every Galaxy Ring sold worldwide. Samsung’s regional support listings illustrate those model differences: SM-Q505NZSAMEA support page.
Do not reset the ring as a first response
Resetting is primarily relevant when moving the ring to a different phone. Samsung says that process requires pairing the device again; see Samsung’s reset guidance. For an update that is merely unavailable, wait and check again after verifying pairing and app connectivity.
Can the firmware be force-installed?
No verified official sideloading method is established for this release. Do not download firmware from third-party repositories or attempt manual flashing. Unofficial procedures can create compatibility, support and recovery problems for a ring accessory.

Does it require a Samsung phone or a subscription?
Samsung’s documentation describes Galaxy Wearable on a compatible phone as the management route and recommends that method even when the phone is not a Samsung Galaxy device. Compatibility depends on region, phone model, operating-system version and app support; it is not safe to reduce this to an absolute “Samsung phones only” rule. The available information also does not indicate that a paid Samsung Health subscription is required for this firmware update.
Should Galaxy Ring owners install it?
Yes, when the update is offered through Galaxy Wearable. It is a very small package whose stated purpose is improving the ring’s phone connection and Samsung Health stability, with no documented downside in the available reporting. Expectations should remain modest: the changelog promises maintenance, not new capabilities.
Because the rollout began in September 2024, treat Q50XWWU2AXH1 as a historical launch-era build rather than a claim about Samsung’s current firmware in August 2026. To identify a newer release, use the same Galaxy Wearable update screen on the ring’s connected phone.
