Yes—official announcements point to at least two categories of Samsung-supported Android XR glasses: screen-free audio glasses and display glasses with an in-lens screen. That is evidence of a product split, not confirmation that Samsung will sell exactly two retail models. Google and Samsung have not published final model names, complete specifications, prices or a firm glasses release date. The named eyewear partners are Warby Parker and Gentle Monster. Samsung’s first shipping Android XR product is Galaxy XR, a headset, so it should not be confused with the forthcoming glasses.
What is Android XR, and where does Samsung fit?
Android XR is Google’s operating system for extended-reality devices, including headsets and glasses. Google says the platform was developed with Samsung and Qualcomm so that the same Android ecosystem can extend beyond phones to wearable displays, cameras, microphones and spatial-computing hardware.

Its first commercial Android XR device is Galaxy XR, originally known as Project Moohan. That product is a headset with cameras and displays covering the wearer’s field of view. Samsung has separately said its broader XR roadmap includes AI glasses in multiple form factors.
This distinction matters because Android XR names the platform, not one specific pair of glasses. Other companies can build Android XR eyewear, and Samsung’s own roadmap can include several designs with different capabilities.

Will Samsung’s Android XR glasses come in multiple versions?
The strongest official evidence supports two functional categories: screen-free audio AI glasses and display AI glasses. It does not establish two finalized Samsung retail SKUs, a “standard” and “Pro” model, or any particular launch lineup.
Google’s Android Show description separates glasses that provide assistance through speakers from glasses that add an in-lens visual display. Samsung’s October 2025 announcement uses broader language, saying it is developing “multiple form factors, including AI glasses.” Taken together, those statements support a category split while leaving the final Samsung branding and model count open.

The table describes announced categories, not tested Samsung products. A final pair could differ in camera placement, phone dependence, prescription support, controls, privacy indicators and regional software features.
What is the difference between Samsung audio glasses and display glasses?
Audio glasses answer questions and deliver guidance through your ears. Display glasses add information to your line of sight, which can reduce the need to look at a phone but requires more complex optics and power management.
How screen-free audio glasses would work
Google describes built-in speakers, microphones and cameras that let a wearer talk naturally with Gemini, capture photos and receive help. A request such as “How do I get to the station?” could be answered through spoken guidance. Translation would also be heard rather than shown as text.

Without a display, the glasses do not need an optical projector or waveguide in front of the eye. That may make a conventional-looking frame easier to design, although no official Samsung weight, battery rating or thickness has been released. Audio privacy, wind noise, microphone pickup and the visibility of camera-activity indicators will be important practical questions once a product is announced.

How display glasses would work
Display glasses add an in-lens visual layer. Google’s examples include navigation overlays and live translation captions, allowing short directions or translated speech to appear while the wearer continues looking ahead.
The display could be monocular, appearing in one eye, or binocular, appearing in both; demonstrations of Android XR concepts have shown both approaches, but those demonstrations do not confirm Samsung’s final optical design. More optics generally mean greater mass, heat and battery requirements, and the image must remain legible across different lighting conditions without blocking ordinary vision.
Which version is better for a buyer?
- Choose the audio concept if hands-free help, calls, photos and spoken directions matter more than reading information in front of your eyes.
- Wait for display details if captions, glanceable navigation or visual identification are the reason you want smart glasses.
- Do not assume the display model will arrive first. Google currently presents audio glasses as the nearer-term collection and display glasses as still forthcoming.
What has Samsung officially confirmed about its glasses?
Samsung has confirmed the direction of its roadmap, not a finished consumer specification sheet. Its Galaxy XR announcement says the company is developing multiple XR form factors, including AI glasses, and names collaborations with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster.

Warby Parker and Gentle Monster are the two eyewear brands identified in the Samsung and Google announcements. The partnerships are intended to combine AI-native technology with everyday eyewear style and practicality. No cited announcement gives a final product name, stock-keeping unit, frame collection, lens options or retail release date for either partner.

“Warby Parker AI glasses” and “Gentle Monster AI glasses” therefore describe forthcoming collaborations, not products that can currently be ordered. The commercial designs could vary by region, prescription availability and frame style.
What Samsung has not published
- A final Samsung glasses model number or retail name
- A confirmed price or subscription requirement
- Camera resolution, field of view or recording limits
- Battery capacity, continuous-use estimate or charging method
- Weight, lens technology, display resolution or brightness for display glasses
- Exact phone, account, carrier or regional compatibility requirements
- A firm launch day for Samsung-branded glasses
Galaxy XR headset specifications cannot fill these gaps. Headset hardware is much larger and uses different optics, batteries and sensors, so transferring its numbers to glasses would be misleading.
When could Samsung’s Android XR glasses launch?
The timing remains broad. Google’s current Android XR product page labels the first audio-glasses collection “Coming this fall,” while its display-glasses section says “Stay tuned.” The same page’s FAQ says other Android XR devices are expected later in 2026. None of those statements supplies a Samsung-specific launch day, country list or pre-order window.
“This fall” should therefore be read as a broad availability target rather than a guaranteed date. Product schedules can differ between Google’s platform demonstrations, partner announcements and actual retail releases, and regional availability may not be simultaneous.

How much will Samsung Android XR glasses cost?
No official Samsung glasses price has been announced. The only published Samsung Android XR price is for Galaxy XR, which is a headset: Google lists a US price of $1,799 or $149 per month, while Samsung’s US launch announcement lists $1,799.99.
Those figures are not a forecast for glasses. A headset includes different displays, processors, cameras and support hardware, so its price cannot establish what audio or display glasses will cost. A future glasses price may also vary by frame, lenses, prescription options, storage, region or bundled services; none of those details has been specified.
How is Galaxy XR different from Samsung’s upcoming glasses?
Galaxy XR is a head-mounted headset with enclosed viewing optics, whereas the announced glasses are intended to resemble ordinary eyewear and provide either audio-only assistance or a more limited in-lens display.

Google says Android XR glasses can connect to apps and Gemini, but compatibility and controls will still be product-specific. A platform capability is not a promise that every announced feature will ship on every frame.
Is XREAL AURA a Samsung Android XR glasses product?
No. XREAL AURA is a separate wired Android XR glasses device. It may be relevant when comparing the wider Android XR ecosystem, but it is not Samsung-branded and should not be presented as one of Samsung’s Warby Parker or Gentle Monster collaborations.

Seeing a feature on an XREAL prototype or another partner device does not prove that Samsung’s eventual glasses will have the same display, cable arrangement, camera system or software support.
What should you do if you want Samsung XR glasses now?
- Decide whether you need glasses or a headset. Galaxy XR is the available Samsung Android XR device, but it is not a discreet eyewear product.
- Choose the capability you are waiting for. Audio glasses target spoken assistance and capture; display glasses target visible captions and navigation.
- Watch for a full product announcement. Confirm the model name, country, price, battery claim, camera policy and phone requirements before treating a partner announcement as a sale listing.
- Check the frame and lens details. Prescription support, fit and display placement may matter more than the Android XR label.
- Ignore unverified listings and codenames. A rumor, prototype or marketplace page is not evidence of an official Samsung retail model.
Until those details appear, the defensible conclusion is that Samsung is pursuing at least two kinds of Android XR glasses, with audio-first eyewear apparently nearer to launch than display eyewear. The exact number of Samsung models remains unknown.
