The centerpiece was the 2,000-piece Prospex SLA017, but the fair also introduced regular-edition 62MAS reinterpretations and expanded collections across several styles.
The specifications, production numbers and euro prices below are those reported by Michael Stockton for Fratello on March 30, 2017. They are historical launch-era details, not confirmation of current availability or prices.

Prospex divers: a 1965 classic and its modern interpretations
SLA017: limited 62MAS reissue
The SLA017 revisited Seiko’s 1965 62MAS diver and was described by Fratello as the fair’s most anticipated Seiko release. The 39.9 mm case, 200 m water resistance and screw-down crown linked its proportions and diving specification to the original family, while its automatic 8L35 was described in the article as derived from Grand Seiko. Fratello reported a long waffle-style rubber strap and a steel bracelet, a limited run of 2,000 pieces, and a 2017 launch price of €3,800.

SPB051 and SPB053: regular-edition alternatives
Seiko also presented the SPB051 and SPB053 as contemporary interpretations rather than limited reissues. Both were reported with a larger 42.6 mm case, 6R15 automatic movement, sapphire crystal, screw-down crown and 200 m water resistance. Fratello listed the black/grey-dial SPB051 on a steel bracelet at €1,100 and the blue SPB053 on a rubber strap at €900 in 2017.
The choice between the trio was therefore not simply a matter of color: the SLA017 was the smaller, limited reissue, while the regular SPB models used a larger case and a different movement. These distinctions describe the 2017 releases, not current catalog status.
Presage dress watches: Cocktail Time and enamel
Cocktail Time expands internationally
The Cocktail Time line broadened beyond its Japan-associated profile into an international collection in Fratello’s account. The 40.5 mm models came in varied dial and case colors. Three-hand automatics used caliber 4R35, with reported starting prices of €410; the power-reserve model used caliber 4R57 and started at €540. Stockton described the dials as having a seven-layer gloss finish. The report also notes that these models did not offer hand-winding.
Presage with an enamel dial
A separate 40.5 mm Presage paired an enamel dial with the automatic 6R15. Its price had not been determined at the time of the article; Stockton expected it to exceed €850. That figure was his estimate, not a confirmed Seiko price.

Samurai in three regular colors
The returning Prospex Samurai appeared in regular blue, black and gold/black stainless-steel versions. Fratello reported a 43.8 mm case and caliber 4R35, with prices above €400. The article did not give water-resistance or strap details for these versions.
SRPB61K1 Aviator
The Prospex Aviator SRPB61K1 brought an aviation-instrument look to the 2017 range, with syringe hands, Arabic numerals and a rotating calculator bezel. Its reported specification included a 44.7 mm case, 4R35 movement and 100 m water resistance. Stockton suggested distressed or NATO-style straps as styling possibilities; that comment does not establish fitment for every variant.

Astron Big Date and other GPS-solar releases
Astron Big Date with caliber 8X42
The Astron Big Date introduced a large date display and what Fratello called the fourth Astron caliber, 8X42. The report lists four stainless-steel and three titanium variants, each with a 44.8 mm diameter. Its 2017 starting prices were €1,800 for stainless steel and €2,400 for titanium.
A black-coated stainless-steel Novak Djokovic edition was limited to 5,000 pieces and listed at €2,150. Its design included Grand Slam city references on the bezel and a tennis-themed chronograph display.

Additional Astron mentions
Stockton also briefly noted a titanium Astron fifth-anniversary edition with five blue sapphires on its dial, and an Astron chronograph whose case had previously been limited to Japan. The report supplies no further specifications or prices for these models.
What the Baselworld lineup shows
The 2017 releases covered distinct uses rather than a single design direction: a vintage-inspired diver in the SLA017, larger everyday diving options in the SPB051 and SPB053, formal choices in Presage, and sportier Prospex models for diving and aviation styling. Astron added a GPS-solar branch with a Big Date display. Grand Seiko also appeared at the fair, including a professional diver and dress-watch releases, but Fratello referred readers to its separate coverage and this roundup does not add specifications for those watches.
For anyone comparing these releases today, treat the euro figures as launch-era prices reported in 2017. The article does not establish current retail prices, resale values, or whether any reference remains available.
