What Seigaiha means on these watches
Seiko translates “Seigaiha” as “blue ocean waves.” The repeating arched-wave pattern has a long presence in Japanese art and decorative crafts, including textiles, ceramics, and lacquerware. In Seiko’s description, the waves symbolize good luck, peace, good fortune, power, and resilience.
The color stories distinguish the two editions: Seiko likened the SLA053’s blue to waves beneath moonlight and the SLA059’s burgundy to dawn’s first rays brightening a dark sea. Those are the brand’s design interpretations, not separate technical features.

What is confirmed about their technical features
Seiko’s launch announcement identifies black ceramic unidirectional elapsed-time bezels, screwdown crowns, LumiBrite-coated hands, markers and bezel accents, and anti-reflective sapphire crystals for the editions. These are announcement specifications, rather than a current technical manual.
SLA053 movement and rating
ShopSeiko’s product page specifies a 26-jewel automatic Seiko caliber 8L35 with manual winding, approximately 50 hours of power reserve, and a 300-meter saturation-diver rating. It also lists a date display, sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment, LumiBrite, a one-piece stainless-steel case with black hard coating, and a black silicone strap. These specifications are directly documented for the SLA053.

SLA059: avoid assuming identical specifications
The cited material does not include an equivalent direct SLA059 product-specification page.
