Seiko Prospex SRPH75K1 vs. SRPH77K1: What’s Different?

The Seiko Prospex SRPH75K1 and SRPH77K1 are both Save the Ocean Special Edition dive watches rated by Seiko for diver’s use at 200 m / 660 ft. The practical differences are the bracelet and day-date display on the SRPH75K1 versus the silicone band and date-only display on the SRPH77K1, along with different movements and case dimensions.

SRPH75K1 vs. SRPH77K1: specifications

Published feature SRPH75K1 SRPH77K1
Movement Seiko caliber 4R36; automatic with manual winding; approximately 41 hours of power reserve (Seiko specifications) Seiko caliber 4R35; automatic with manual winding; approximately 41 hours of power reserve (Seiko specifications)
Calendar Day and date Date
Case diameter 42.4 mm 43.2 mm
Length measurement 49.4 mm lug-to-lug 44.0 mm length
Thickness 13.4 mm 12.6 mm
Band Stainless-steel bracelet Silicone
Weight 186 g 104 g
Band interface 20 mm distance between lugs 20 mm band width
Water resistance Diver’s 200 m / 660 ft Diver’s 200 m / 660 ft

Seiko labels the SRPH75K1 measurement “lug-to-lug” and the SRPH77K1 measurement “length.” Treat these as the values published for each model rather than assuming the labels describe perfectly interchangeable measurements. Sources: SRPH75K1 and SRPH77K1.

Which one is likely to suit your preferences?

Choose by band and weight

The SRPH75K1 pairs a stainless-steel bracelet with a listed weight of 186 g. The SRPH77K1 uses a silicone band and has a listed weight of 104 g. If you prefer a bracelet or want the watch’s day display, the SRPH75K1 has those specifications. If you prefer silicone and a lighter listed configuration, the SRPH77K1 is the relevant option.

Compare the published case dimensions on your wrist

The SRPH75K1 has the smaller stated diameter, at 42.4 mm, but the longer stated lug-to-lug measurement, at 49.4 mm. The SRPH77K1 is 43.2 mm in diameter and has a listed length of 44.0 mm. Those numbers can help narrow a choice, but they do not establish how either watch will fit an individual wrist; try them on if possible.

Check strap compatibility rather than relying on width alone

Seiko lists a 20 mm lug spacing for the SRPH75K1 and a 20 mm band width for the SRPH77K1. A matching nominal width alone does not confirm that every replacement strap or bracelet will fit. Check the attachment and end-link design and confirm compatibility with the exact model before buying an alternative.

What does the 200 m rating mean?

Seiko specifies both models for diver’s use at 200 m / 660 ft. That is the published specification, not a guarantee that any individual watch still has that level of water resistance. Seiko Watch Corporation’s customer guidance says, “A watch’s water resistance is not permanently guaranteed.” It explains that gaskets age and shocks can deform watch parts, and advises checking the marking on the case back. For a used watch or one with an unknown service history, do not infer its present water resistance from the model specification alone. Seiko: Water Resistance.

What does “Save the Ocean” signify?

Seiko lists both references among its Save the Ocean models. The company describes the initiative as supporting marine conservation activities, including marine-debris reduction through the PADI Marine Debris Program and polar environmental research connected with Japan’s National Institute of Polar Research. This is Seiko’s description of the program; it does not establish a donation or a specific conservation impact for each watch sold. Seiko: Save the Ocean.
