The Seiko Prospex Sumo PADI Edition SPB325J1 is the PADI-dial model in Seiko’s Sumo family, listed with an automatic 6R35 movement, a 45.0 mm stainless-steel case and a silicone strap. Seiko’s brochure specifies a “200M Diver” rating, but does not give a price. The current price and country-specific availability could not be verified from the official product pages checked.
What is the Seiko SPB325J1?
SPB325J1 is one of three Prospex Sumo references shown together in Seiko’s brochure: SPB321J1, SPB323J1 and SPB325J1. The brochure presents SPB325J1 as the PADI edition, distinguished by the PADI name and globe-shaped emblem on its dial. It describes the other two dials as blue and grey with an ocean-motion texture. Why is it called the Sumo?
Seiko says fans gave the watch the Sumo name not long after its first appearance in 2007. The brochure offers two possible explanations: its muscular appearance, or a bezel shape resembling the dohyo, the ring used for sumo. Those are Seiko’s suggested explanations, not a definitive account of the nickname’s origin. Seiko’s Prospex Sumo brochure

What makes this the PADI edition?
The SPB325J1’s identifying dial treatment is the PADI name and globe-shaped emblem, as presented in Seiko’s brochure. Seiko also describes PADI as “the world’s largest ocean exploration and diver organization.” The brochure gives figures of 6,600 dive centers and resorts and more than 128,000 professional members worldwide; it does not state when those counts were current, so they should not be read as present-day totals.
What is the SPB325J1 price?
A current price could not be verified. Seiko’s brochure does not list one, and the official Seiko USA SPB325J1 page and Seiko Global SPB325J1 page returned 404 Page Not Found when checked. That does not establish that the reference is discontinued or unavailable; it means those pages do not confirm a current price or stock status. Any price should be checked against a dated source for the relevant country and currency.

Strap detail to keep in mind
Seiko’s collection copy discusses a ceramic bezel and super-hard coating for the case and bracelet in the new generation, and mentions a redesigned three-row bracelet and clasp. The SPB325J1’s individual specification block lists a silicone strap, not a bracelet. Bracelet-specific features therefore should not be attributed to this reference on the basis of that general collection text.
