Seiko’s 2024 announcement compares the new family with the SPB143 generation introduced in 2020. It highlights the increase in stated water resistance and power reserve, the relocated date, compact dimensions, and added Lumibrite area.

What is notable about the SPB455 strap?
The SPB455 includes an additional strap made from recycled plastic bottles and braided using the Japanese Seichu technique, according to Seiko. Seiko also claims its tensile strength is nearly four times that of regular Seiko fabric straps; that is the manufacturer’s research claim, not an independent test result. Separate purchase availability for the strap was not established.
How much does the Seiko 24MAS cost?
No current, market-wide price comparison was established. Seiko’s March 2024 announcement listed Australian recommended retail prices of AUD $1,995 for the SPB451 and SPB453 and AUD $2,350 for the SPB455. These are dated, regional launch prices, not current quotes.
