Movement and the 2019 update
The 6R35 is an automatic movement that can also be wound by hand. Seiko specifies a power reserve of approximately 70 hours, so a fully wound watch can continue running for roughly that long when not worn, subject to actual conditions. The stated accuracy range is a specification, not a promise that every individual watch will keep time at exactly that rate.

In its May 4, 2019 account of the updated Sumo, Monochrome Watches contrasted the 6R35 and 70-hour reserve with the preceding generation’s 6R15 and stated 50-hour reserve. The review also identified sapphire crystal as an update. Those are the publication’s account of the generational change, not independent measurements here.

The 45.0 mm diameter is only one part of fit. At 52.6 mm lug-to-lug, the SPB103J1 has a substantial listed length across the wrist; compare that figure with a watch you already know fits you. Its 12.9 mm thickness and 188.0 g listed weight also matter if you prefer a slimmer or lighter watch.

Read the water-resistance rating as specified
Seiko labels the rating “200m / 660ft diver’s” and lists a screw-down crown, screw case back and unidirectional rotating bezel. The watch also has LumiBrite on its hands, indices and bezel. These are product specifications, not a substitute for checking the watch’s condition or having it inspected if it is used or has been serviced.
Bracelet and strap sizing
The official page lists a 20 mm lug width and a three-fold clasp with secure lock, push-button release and extender. That lug width gives a starting point when considering a replacement strap, but confirm the specific strap’s attachment and end-link compatibility before ordering.
