Its defining details are a brown Shiracha dial and a leather strap made using offcuts from REGAL shoemaking. Seiko specifies an automatic 6R55 movement, 40.2 mm stainless-steel case and 10 bar water resistance; those are manufacturer specifications, not independently tested results.
What is the Seiko SPB529J1?
Seiko identifies the watch as the SPB529 in its Presage Classic Series; SPB529J1 is the reference used in regional product naming. Seiko’s collaboration page describes it as a global limited edition of 3,000 pieces, with release in October 2025. Seiko’s REGAL collaboration announcement
The Classic Series takes design cues from traditional Japanese crafts, including colors, materials and textures. Seiko describes the collection’s dials as textured and curved, with inspiration from natural textiles. These figures come from Seiko’s product specification. The stated daily precision and approximate reserve are not independent test results or a guarantee of how an individual watch will perform. Why the strap is part of the collaboration
Seiko says the strap leather is sourced from REGAL shoemaking offcuts that would otherwise be discarded, giving the material another use. The Chinese-language official collaboration page identifies the SPB529J1 and explains the upcycling rationale. Seiko summarizes the idea: “Leather resulting from the shoemaking process takes on a new life—as a fine wristwatch strap.” Seiko’s REGAL collaboration announcement
The official UK specification identifies the supplied strap as leather. A UK Seiko Boutique retailer additionally describes the dial as smoky or gradated Shiracha, calls its texture silk-inspired, and says an additional calfskin strap is included. The 40.2 mm diameter, 46.0 mm lug-to-lug measurement and 20 mm lug width describe the case and strap interface, but they do not by themselves establish how the watch will fit or feel on a particular wrist. Similarly, Seiko’s stated precision, 72-hour approximate reserve and 10 bar rating are published specifications; no independent accuracy, comfort, finishing, durability or water-performance test is established by the cited sources.

The 20 mm lug width is useful when considering replacement straps, but width alone does not prove that a particular third-party strap will fit the case or work with its clasp. The cited product details do not establish resale value, warranty terms or current marketplace inventory.
